| Isaac & Jason September 06 |
My name is Cherie-Ann and i am 27. My family consists of myself and my husband Jason, one absolutely gorgeous (not that I am bias) one year old boy named Isaac, (we have also now discoverd that we have another bub on the way due early July 07), one pet dog and a few tanks full of fish.
Both my husband and I work full time, which means that Isaac is in care all week. Lucky I have found a wonderful day care, which is in the same building as I work in. (i can drop in and have luch with him or go and read a book with him and some of the other little ones in his room.
I have been has been blessed with a very loving family, who love and adore Isaac and they all get to see him regularly, 4 grandparents, 1 great grand parent, 4 Uncles, 4 Aunts and one cousin. He also has three more great grandparents two who live in NZ and one who lives in Ireland.
Our pet dog, named Nugget, is our family guard dog, who thinks she is human and is really a softy at heart who up until we had Isaac was my baby girl. She absolutly loves our son and he loves her. We have five tanks of fish in our home. I am not allowed near any of them - for some reason whenever I do the fish seem to end up belly-up. |

My poor little boy has chicken pox and is covered head to toe in yucky spots.
the ironic things is the doctors appointment i had made for last saturday (where we were told he had chicken pox) was actually made to get his vacination against them.
Along with the chicken pox, my poor little boy also has tonsilitis so he is not a happy little camper. |

I am trying to schedule a hospital appointment for my first doctor checkup (at the hospital - i have been seeing my local GP). Because i work full time, i weant to try to get an appointment that will outside of work hours, however the hospital only does appointments from 9am to 3pm. I have asked to have a first thing in the morning appointment and the first they can offer me is 10am, they only offer morning appointments on tow days a week and even though they take appointments from 9am, the doctors dont usually arrive untilll 9.30am.
I have been having regular appointments with my doctor, and ultrasounds and i know my baby is in good health, but i really do feel as though the hospital dont give a rats **** for working mothers. They are trying to make me take the antinatal classes (even though this is my second child and i never took them with my first) which they only offer during the week (or i can pay for them on Saturday mornings - which i cant afford).
My work is not overly happy I am pregnant and is making my life a little hard at the moment (i am not allowed time off for doctors appointment, if i do it has to be unpaid or i have to take annual leave - there isnt anything worng with that except I cant afford not to be paid and i have not annual leave.
The hospital staff was quite rude to me when i told them that i couldnt make a particular mrning because of a work commitment and coulnt understand why i would take unpaid time off. Once this baby is born we are going to struggle even more financially, and i cant afford to loss my job (which is on the cards if i take any more time off).
Just wanted to have a winge.

Over the weekend I had to take my little by to hospital as he was having an asthma attack, very very scary – the first one my son has had. When he came home we had to monitor him very closely and medicate him every four hours, during the night too. Needless to say I am just surviving on the little sleep I can get, with every cough or strange noise I rush into his room to check he is breathing ok. I took only one day of work to make sure my son was ok and when I got back to work I was made to feel guilty for taking time off. I then ended up crying in the bathroom (been 21 weeks pregnant I am slightly emotional)
I feel so angry at my boss, who up until today I use to get along really well with, I really don’t think I will have much respect for him from now on. I don’t like to cause trouble, nor do I like to make other peoples life difficult but MY SON COMES FIRST, and those who don’t like it can go jump. |
