Do I really need to send you to time out!?

Comment Published at 20:2320:2324 comments24 comments165 Visits165 VisitsReport

Dear Minti members,

A few of you are making coming onto Minti (over the last couple days) an unpleasant experience.

I don't care who started it, I just want it stopped immediately.

Do I really have to send you to the time out corner for 48 hrs?

Believe me, I will do so, if you all don't stop immediately.

  1. Do not get dragged in to this any further.
  2. Do not take the bait and get involved.
  3. Do not email me whinging and/or pointing fingers.
  4. I will send anyone to time out for 48 hrs if I see any more negative activity over the next few days.

Be warned, the time out corner is now in play!

Focus on the positives, if you can't, then take some time off Minti for a couple days.

-- Clay

Re: Do I really need to send you to time out!?
lmfao smart arse. that makes me 26hrs in teh naughty corner. more than 5hrs away from minti and i get panic attacks. i really dont think you wanna see that, it could get ugly. i like the time out idea for everyone else tho lol its a shame you have to put that into play, but definately something worthwhile. lets see minti a happier place to be from now on.

Re: Do I really need to send you to time out!?

Thank you for saving my forehead. For the past few days, I've been slapping my forehead every time I see comments about the recent drama.

I think the warning is just in time because I was about to resort to banging my head on the table if I see anymore.

Re: Do I really need to send you to time out!?

Sorry Sir will I get dentention, lol.

I hope this whole horrible experience has highlighted some problems here, other than the fact that members always seem to niggle each other.  I don't bother reporting call me a coward if you want but I don't see the point as people do react the way they do because they do.

I hope you can put something in place that would possibly make this reporting process anon or whatever just to protect others from being attacked in this way. Time out  is a good idea, too, lol.

Re: Do I really need to send you to time out!?

Thanks for this Clay

Its not on seeing a load of "He said, She said" on the Activity List

I was actually really embarrassed as I had spent a long time telling my SIL who is already a member, she should use it more, I told her I would give her a demo on how to move around the site and when we logged on, I logged right off and said, we do sometimes have trouble on line but it doesnt last !!!!!!!!!!!!!! She straight away decided she didn't want a part of it

I told her to be like me and only read the stuff she is genuinely interested in and not read the blogs that look like trouble, so I think she is going to stay and be more active

We are a huge community of people who all have different ideas, opinions and ways of doing things, but living in a community is all about embracing those differences and accepting thats what makes us a unique race, we are allowed to be different and use our own free will. I use my free will to avoid conflict and not nit pick at others comments and actions, it really does make for a much more peaceful life.

Why are so many people fired up by the actions of others using their free will. I watch from my safe distance and think that there has been a lot of bad behaviour, but I refuse to get drawn into it and refuse to contribute to keeping it on the Activity List

Re: Do I really need to send you to time out!?

That's like 2 hours for every year old I am!  I also think that the members who were involved need to write 5 positive things they have gained from the members they are disgruntled with, in their own blog.  Intolerance such as we have seen comes from jealousy, being closed minded, and not taking control of ones own thoughts.

I have been watching, and leaving comments, but as usual, they are about my antics of sitting on the fence (lucky I'm used to having a numb bum!) and reading what isn't being said as much as what is being said.  I have stated I will not be involved, but will watch and continue to support all members equally.  I have lost sleep over this, but only because I've been trying to write a blog while going to sleep!  No luck so far, but I am working on it.

I will take the slap on the hand, and keep it hidden for the next time I am here at 3am and not really thinking about what I am writing.  Actually, my time out needs to be between 1am and 9am every day!

Re: Do I really need to send you to time out!?

Great sentiment chicken, but I can't think of any reason to be jealous of anyone else on the site...

I can think of 5 nice things to say about them though... LOL!

Don't fret too much, from what I can see, a lot of it is sensationalised beyond belief.

You get your rest and take care of yourself, and keep being a wonderful example; you're great at it! xox

Re: Do I really need to send you to time out!?

Hey Thanks Clay for the reminder/heads up.  A lot of people (maybe even me included) need a slap on the wrist and a bit of time out.

Here's to an adult website with members acting like adults!

Thanks for the warning I think that it is needed.  As most of us can not act as responsibly as we should.
