I have created a new group on Minti to discuss the topic of voting. It is called the Voting Vault.

It is...

1. private - so the discussions on voting aren't in the public forum. keeps Minti clean.
2. anyone can join - you just need to request and all will be accepted.
3. topic of discussion is about voting.
4. aim - discuss and educate members that voting is required on Minti and you're vote should not be influenced by others.

Thanks to the members who reported the Minti spammer the other day.
I am glad to say that the member was voted swiftly off the island, and all his/her emails were automatically removed form everyone's Minti mail boxes.

Maybe even just raise the awareness of this around the Minti community? Possibly just point to this blog post.

I just wrote an article on voting sprees.

Rachel just a few hours ago blogged about what we have decided to do about "voting sprees".

I have copied her blog post below, so you can also read it here...

If you want the short version it is... don't do it, if you do it you will be warned, if you do it again your account will be deleted. We want Minti to be a friendly place where members don't feel as though they are being targeted.

Here is the long version...

It has come to our attention that some members are going on "voting sprees".

The Co-Founders of Minti have had a meeting regarding "voting sprees". We have come to the conclusion that voting sprees show a disdain for the Minti system and we consider it a form of "gaming the system" and a breach of our Terms of Service.

We have issued warnings to members that we are aware have conducted a voting spree. The warning is "if you do it (a voting spree) any more we will be forced to delete your Minti account".

If we find others doing it we will also issue them with the same warning.

 We are improving our system to prevent such behaviour but in the interim we will take manual steps to crack down on very swift voting.

If you have a concern with the Minti approach I would appreciate you write me (or Clay or Matthew).
