Hi Everyone,
There has been some discussion about this over the past few days, and so I just want to clarify it here on my blog... most of the content on Minti is public, and can be viewed by anyone on the Internet.
We DO provide private areas for you.. ie: your lounge is private just to you and your Minti friends, and you can also set up a private group and only invite your friends to it.
Here is an excerpt from our Privacy Policy (linked at the bottom of every page, plus when registering you click that you have read and agree to the Privacy Policy)...
Public Forum
Information posted to articles, message boards, chat areas, and member bio areas is available to the general public and becomes public information. In addition, the site offers to visitors the possibility to provide their own content.
PLEASE EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN DECIDING TO DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. Users under the age of 18 should be particularly careful not to provide any personally identifying information while using chat rooms or message boards. Users of chat areas and message boards must follow acceptable standards of behaviour when posting messages online. Minti reserves the right to, but is not obligated to, refuse or delete any content that in our sole discretion is considered inappropriate.
And the following is from our Terms of Service (also linked at the bottom of each page, plus when registering you click that you have read and agree to the ToS)...
You should also be aware that any message posted to our Site will become public and any personal information you post in an article will be accessible to any visitors to the Minti Site.
Below is an image of the bottom part of the registration form on Minti...

I strongly recommend not placing any sensitive information on public parts of Minti. |
