Father son connections

Comment Published at 02:4102:416 comments6 comments914 Visits914 VisitsReport
How good is it when your little boy turns to you and says Dad da?

It made me think of my own Dad in an entirely new light because he would have had the same joy that I feel now when I was a little tacker.

My dad has been a great dad and a good role model for me. I feel I know what to do as a parent, not because I know anything but becuase I saw (and still see) my dad in action.

I'd be interested in what other Dad's think about their sons and their own fathers.

Let me know

Re: Father son connections

Sadly, my partner has only daughters at the moment, oh and his grown up son, so I think the Father Son bonding is something he is going to miss out on.  Having said that, who knows what our 5th baby will be.  Might get lucky there!

I know that the bond he does have with his girls is very special, so does that count?

My Dad
Hi DAG,

Having my own children (son) certainly has given me an improved perspective of my parents. I have always had a good relationship with them, however I now see another side I never really bothered to notice. They love me because I am their son, not because what I do or what I achieve. I understand now why they love to hear from me and see me... I am still their "little boy"... and you know what?... I think that's cool (I didn't think so when I was a teenager).

"dad da" is bliss to hear :)

Cheers
Clay
