Both my partner, Scott, and I are 24, which appears to be on the 'young' side of having kids, if we paid any attention to comments but pffft to them. I always planned on being a mum by my mid 20s and I haven't looked back at all.
We currently have 4 generations of family alive on my side of the family, with CJ, me, my mum and my grandmother and grandfather alive. Coming from this Italian side, we always have a helping hand given whenever we need it, which is great. The support has been wonderful from my family and Scott's. My Dad's side is German/Australian and with him having 2 brothers and 2 sisters, there are many, many cousins, two of which are due in February and March so we'll have more of us running around. Watch out, Perth! The family is spawning!
Scott's heralds from Newcastle, UK so, unfortunately, I haven't met much of his side of the family. His mum visits from the UK 1-2 times a year as all her grandkids are here, with Scott's half-sister living in Perth, with her 3 kids, aged 15, 9 and 3. That means Scott has had a child in his life more years than not so he's certainly had some practice! We're hoping to get to England in August/September 09 so I can see that part of the UK (have only seen London) and meet a lot more of his family. |
