We are going back to have another appointment with the school on monday about the boys going to year 11 and 12 ,, if they want to stay on then they should ,, after all im the one that pays their wages in the school ( catholic)

when i called yesterday , i asked to see the schools headmaster tues i got no hes busy then wed then thurs then fri hmmm hes still busy is he will how about monday at 4pm

they where like umm umm umm ok but ill still have to ask him if hes free i said great but untill then mark me down im comming with my partner this time

( i have found out that they mark their kids results as a whole for the school on grades and thats why they dont like the slower kids to stay on cause it brings the whole schools grades down ,, well tough titties i say ,, so now i know as to why they try to get rid of the kids ,, thats just not on

they have been told that the headmaster will place them in the subjects

good cause it will be the easy ones haaaa

cooking digital photography , buisness studys etc,, i think that sounds great anyway

my friends son went through the exact same thing

she told the headmaster ,, dont say anything i pay your wages my sons going on and that it you can not let him continue school cause hes not a bright spark ,,

hes on a contract for next year and they said if he dosent hand in his assignments or homework he will have to leave the school ,, they are trying their best to get the slower kids out now i can see it soo clear, but they cant refuse the kids to go on cause they are not as smart as the other ones ,, what a bunch of snakes huh

less then half of year ten are going to continue on next year

Im going with my partner cause hes a bright spark when it comes to witty words and he knows the system only too well and can debate them alot better than i ever could

and funny this but the schools soo nervous about him comming with me lol

im waitng now to see if they will call me back today saying mondays hes just to busy and if thats just soo then it will be another week ,,

my boys are not bright but they do their work and are great boys , the system has failed them in the past before high school so this one we are going to fight till the end or im off to accurent affair ....

Re: haaaa
You know what, I had a feeling you would do that!  Schools nowadays seem to be too concerned with their academic record, than actually teaching and encouraging their less than perfect pupils.  You go get 'em, and best wishes to your boys, it is excellent that they want to have a go at it.  The only failure in life, is the failure to TRY.  If their headmaster doesn't take them on, then he didn't try, which means he is a f..... (failure of course).

Good on you. As long as they are trying and want to do there work they should be happy that they want to stay on. My son doesn't know what he wants to do next year but if he does not find a job he has to go on to year 11 now. That is the new law isn't it? I wish he would just do an apprentiship like my older son now as he isn't taking school seriously anyway. If he was trying I would encourage him, bright or not. It is the effort that counts I think. Good luck to your boys.

Re: haaaa

Hi,

My friend is facing the same thing with her daughter who is currently in year 10 at a Catholic school.  We are in Queensland and from what I hear the more bright (A Students) they have the better their OP percentage looks and the more enrolments they will receive.  Of course some of these new enrolments will be ousted at the end of year 10, but it seems that funding is reliant, at least in part, to the number of high OP students the school produces.

This, in my view, is totally wrong.  Our kids have enough trouble with self-esteem, and self-worth as it is.

Go for it and don't let these people push you around. Threaten to go to Current Affair, I am sure you will find a lot of other parents with the same concerns as you.

I find it amazing that a so called 'Christian' organization can be more focused on money than the well-being of it's students.

Re: haaaa

hey deb

this is outragous that they won't let the not as smart kids keep on at school. if you ask me they are the kids that need to be there for as long as they can so that they can have a better chance in life. i know only to well about being a dummy cause i am one.
