True Australian Ghost Story

A True Australian ghost story

This story happened a while ago in Brisbane, and even though it sounds like an Alfred Hitchcock tale, it's true.
John Bradford, a Sydney University student, was on the side of the road hitch hiking on a very dark night and in the midst of a storm.
The night was rolling on and no car went by. The storm was so strong he could hardly see a few feet ahead of him.
Suddenly he saw a car slowly coming towards him and stopped.
John, desperate for shelter and without thinking about it, got in the car and closed the door, just to realise there was nobody behind the wheel and the engine wasn't on!
The car started moving slowly.
John looked at the road and saw a curve approaching.
Scared, he started to pray, begging for his life. Then, just before he hit the curve, a hand appeared through the window and turned the wheel.
John, paralysed with terror, watched how the hand repeatedly came through the window but never harmed him.
Shortly thereafter John saw the lights of a pub down the road so, gathering strength, jumped out of the car and ran to it.
Wet and out of breath, he rushed inside and started telling everybody about the horrible experience he had just experienced.
A silence enveloped the pub when everybody realised he was crying and wasn't drunk.
Suddenly two other people walked into the same pub.
They, like John, were also wet and out of breath.
Looking around and seeing John Bradford sobbing at the bar, one said to the other.

"Look, Bruce ?? there's that idiot that got in the car while we were pushing it." tongue.gif

Re: True Australian Ghost Story
Ha Ha   good one     Here is another good one for you

A boss wondered why Glen, one of his most valued employees, had not phoned in sick one day.

Having an urgent problem with one of their main properties, he dialled Glen's home phone number and was greeted with a child's whisper....  " hello "

"Is your daddy home?" he asked.

" yes ," whispered the small voice.

May I talk with him?"

The child whispered, " no".

Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is your Mommy there?"

 " Yes."

"May I speak with her?"

Again, the small voice whispered, "No".

Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss asked, "Is anybody else there?"

" Yes ," whispered the child, "a policeman".

Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked, "May I speak with the policeman?"

" No, he's busy.  ", whispered the child.

"Busy doing what?"

" Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the Fireman" , came the whispered answer.

Growing more worried as he heard a loud noise in the background through the earpiece on the phone, the boss asked, "What is that noise?"

" A Helicopter", answered the whispering voice.

"What is going on there?" demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive.

Again whispering, the child answered, " The search team just landed a helicopter."

Alarmed, concerned and a little frustrated the boss asked, "What are they searching for?"

Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle... " Me".
