Okay, so I wrote a wonderful blog. I guess I took too long because when I saved it, I got logged out and lost the whole thing! This is my attempt at remembering what it was I wrote the first time around. Of course, it's been a couple hours and I can't promise that my pregnancy brain hasn't let all my good ideas just seep out.
I may be crazy because during the hottest week of our summer so far, I haven't been sitting in our lovely air conditioned home. No, I've been outside, exhausting myself. It's been for very good reasons, though.
On Monday, before it got really hot, I traveled for a total of 6 hours to visit family at a cottage up north. We, Arianna and I, left at 8am and didn't get home until 11pm. It was a very nice trip since most of it was taken with my sister-in-law and her two boys. It was great, all three car seats snuggled in as close as possible in the back seat, the two of us chatting up a storm in the front. We had a wonderful day. I was able to connect with cousins I usually only get to see twice a year. They all exclaimed over Arianna's curls and how adorable she was. She had a hoot playing in the water all afternoon. And thankfully, the humidity that was plaguing us back home hadn't hit up north; the day was beautiful.
Yesterday was a different matter. We, again just Arianna and I, went to the Peterborough Zoo, about an hour from home, with our playgroup. My sister-in-law met us there, so we got to spend the day with them again. Unfortunately, the heat and humidity was in full swing (34 degrees C with a humidex of 40) and we were so very hot! It didn't seem to phase Arianna at all. She had a blast, except when she got splashed by some big kids at the splash pad. And I got to play with my new camera that arrived in the mail on Tuesday. All the walking and standing around did a number on me, though. I was so sore that I actually took a bath on the hottest day of the summer!
This afternoon we get to go to the doctor again to hear the results of our ultrasound and watch Arianna get excited about listening to the baby's heart. I love how she loves going! The heat and humidity are still very high, but thankfully the car and doctor's office will be nice and cool.
I found out yesterday that one of our playgroup mom's mother-in-law passed away and that the funeral is tomorrow. I feel like I should go, except that I don't have anything appropriate to wear, which wouldn't be a problem if I wasn't pregnant. I'd also have to find someone to watch Arianna. Maybe those reasons are a little superficial and selfish, but that's how I'm feeling. The second problem could probably be solved easily, but I really don't have anything to wear and I'm not going to spend money on clothing to wear for one morning. I don't know her family at all and I'm afraid that I would offend them with the outfits I do have.
Anyway, I've rambled on long enough. That's all for now. I'll post about how things go at the doctor's office later. |
