Just to quickly blog and let you know how i am doing. Yes i did have baby on the 5 November 2009 at 8.16pm. I was pretty happy with how i handled the birth... LOL.. and that it went pretty quick
They were definately contractions i was getting that morning and i texted my son's bestfriends mum at about 7.30am to warn her that today might be the day as we organised for her to watch the kids which she was so happy to do. Everytime i saw her she would say if you need anything just call, even if you want me to take the kids away for a few hours etc... (that was during my pregnancy)
By lunchtime i decided to ask hubby if he can take the rest of the afternoon off from work so he can pick up Keandre from school as i did not feel like driving to pick him up if this was it... lol...then he was able to drop the kids off at my friends house at about 4.30pm when she came home from work . The kids were so excited that baby might be coming that night and that they get to sleep over at there friends house on a school night... lol...
Anyway i've been timing my contractions as i wanted to be certain they were contractions...LOL... I was still unsure as they varied from 3 - 15 mins apart... and by 5.30pm they were about 3 - 7 mins apart if i was counting them right so i decided to ring the hospital and see what they said. I did warn them earlier that morning that i thought my contractions were coming and they told me how to count them and if they got closer to call again and maybe come in. I hesitated at the moment in whether i should go in now or hang on a little longer as i wanted to be sure... hahaha.... as i did not want to be sent back home if nothing was happening yet
When i got there the midwife examined me and said "wow your doing a pretty good job here" I guess referring to the pain as i was already 6 cm dialated! I was just glad that I wont be sent home now… LOL… They started me on the gas for pain relief which actually was such a relief considering I went that long without it as my contractions got stronger. From then on it was kind of a blurr as I drifted in and out of my lovely less painful world… hahaha…. Soon in no time I had the urge to push and was totally sniffing in that gas. The midwife who delivered our baby was a guy and I recall him saying to me to stop breathing in the gas so much so the baby can come out quicker as the gas slows it down. I do remember saying to him “NO WAY” and held onto the gas for dear life... hahaha... but then I thought ok if it will quicken the birth I wont breath in the gas every second… hahaha… eventually when I did that our little baby boy finally came out at about 8.16pm.
Hubby was able to cut the cord as he asked before hand if he could as with the other kids they never did ask if he wanted to do that. I guess it would be an experience he would never forget.
Unfortunately I had to get stitches but im not sure what kind of tear I had, though it was internal. Luckily they continued me on the gas as they stitched me up as the Doctor was unable to give me a local for that certain area where she had to stitch me up because it was deep. Though another area she was able to give me a local aneastetic. Overall I guess the stitches were not as bad as my other births.
Anyway, here he is….
KAIZER AMARO
(His name we found in a baby name book like my other kids. Kaizer is Bulgarian for Caeser and Amaro was Native American for “strong”)
