Me and My Family

My name is Emily and I am an ICEA Certified Childbirth Educator, birth doula and breastfeeding mentor in the Seattle, WA area. Currently, I work at the Pregnancy Resource Centers of Snohomish County in Everett, administrating their childbirth education program and teaching classes for young pregnant women. I received my professional training through the Seattle Midwifery School’s extension program. I am so blessed to have a chance to minister to women with unexpected pregnancies; helping them understand how their babies develop in the womb, what to expect during birth and how to survive the first couple weeks of mommyhood.

On a personal note, I have been married for almost five years and gave birth over a year ago to our first son. I love to read and sew and design websites but I spend most of my time nursing, changing diapers and trying to keep Ethan from eating every little speck that resides on my despicably dirty floors.

Ethan is a very active and healthy boy! He has been exclusively breastfed aside from solid foods and is still nursing. Since he was 8 months old he has been communicating with sign language and currently has about 10 signs he uses allllll the time. When I am at work, Ethan goes to grandma and grandpa's house, which he loves! As a family we practice attachment parenting and positive discipline.
