My Grandaughter

Comment Published at 16:0016:003 comments3 comments49 Visits49 VisitsReport
Yesterday I received a call from her School to say they had had enough of her bulling behavour and her Cutting her arms and such so she was not wanted in the school any more .Now it is trying to get her settled into a new school . I have discussed her agreeing to taking some of the drugs that mental health are offering but she refuses to do that . .She has a court case looming because she got angry and brokee a window and haddent told us about it . Is there any way we can get her to accept this medication to try and stop her totaly ruining her life . The school she is now going to have to attend has at least 1000 kids and I cant see her lasting long there The private school that she was going to only had 300 kids all up and they were wondefull with her but I guess when they cant see any improvement either they have to do something about it ..Please if you have ay constructive advice feel free to pass it on to me .I am at my wits endat the moment.

Ethrin...
Your grandaughter has gone through a lot. Teen years are very hard. Cutting is a way to dull the mental pain and let the sadness escape that way. Instead of meds (which I personally dont think are what she needs) how about talking to someone about it. It might be harder to get her to do this then take medication but its worth a shot. Shes hurting so much inside that is why she is lashing out in school and cutting her arms which I dont think is an attention thing in her case...

I dont know whatelse to say but your doing an amazing thing taking her on and helping her through the problems shes having. Keep up with it and stick in there. She will one day appreciate it. Lots of love is what she needs even when shes being impossible!

No idea
I am sorry but I have no idea what to tell you.

I did just want to write and encourage you that you are doing a great job with her. One day (probably when she is old) she will appreciate all that you are doing for her.

Try to keep positive and keep being positive and encouraging to her.
