Too Fast!

by exquisite-flowerComment Published at 12:1812:180 comments0 comments72 Visits72 VisitsReport

She is just growing up far too fast!  Was talking to a friend in America today and his god-daughter sounds as bossy as my E!  Putting on theatrical shows where sometimes we can join in and other times not.  I am gonna miss this if it ever stops.  I wonder if we should have a family evening started up where we put on shows and things.  mmm.  What an idea.  She would love that.  We could do friday evenings now that I have no other committments that evening.

Pic taken in August when we were painting the youth room.

YAY!

by exquisite-flowerComment Published at 16:3016:301 comments1 comments70 Visits70 VisitsReport

Have spent the whole evening making 'pillowcase' type envelopes to help keep our clothes tidy in the wardrobe.  These ones are for our socks, so were quite small, one is nearly finished and the first is slightly started.  A great evenings work, and it is now after midnight.

So I am off to bewd now and to pray that the mouse/mice leave our home and us alone.  I havent seen evidence of them for a couple of days now, but i keep thinking I can hear them.  I do wish that something would be done about them as I hate killing the poor things and I cant afford to ge the council in all the time, esp when I dont think my place is a particular haven for the rodents.  However, they have eaten some of my stuff from in one cupboard last month and I saw one last week.

I wish someone would take responsibility for the fact that they are now in our neighbourhood cuz of all the building work over where they (the mice) used to live and deal with it properly.

Peace out

Lazy Life

by exquisite-flowerComment Published at 14:2614:260 comments0 comments142 Visits142 VisitsReport

Why is a lazy life busier than an active life?  Made the most amazing flapjack yesterday!  My teenage friend came over and asked if ew could finally do it, so we went to the shops and did the groceries and got the oats and came home to make them.  It was well good.  We have finished it already - well E has anyhow.  LOL.  She often doestn like our baking much, we tend to give a lot of it away, but this looks like one we may well keep on making just for us.  YAY!  It is one of my favourites.

Today E wrote her name (joined the dots) all on her own the whole way through - all the letters - for the first time ever.  I was straight on the phone to my parents naturally.  It is well exciting.  She loves her school time so much.  She always wants more and more.  Althugh I do keep it strictly to her half hour because that way hopefully it will keep her appetite whetted, and other elarning that we do for fun is just bonus for us both, supporting what she ahs already learnt and hopefully consolidating it.  She has been in bed for hours.  Bless her.  Now I have just a couple of things left to do before I can hit the sack also.  Nite all.

What a lovely day!

by exquisite-flowerComment Published at 11:3211:320 comments0 comments69 Visits69 VisitsReport

my parents decided to come over today since they both had the day off and it was my nephews birthday last friday, so we were able to call him all together.  We had to wait all day until 6:45pm GMT so that we knew we could get them, it was a long long wait!! My brother lives in Florida now, so it was nice to be all together when we called.  It was only a quickie cuz my sill is so tired and pregnant etc and they have so much else to do today, but it was nice to hear his voice.  They are all well and Samuel is due in a few days so that is quite exciting.  Well must go email them all now.  Back later on.  Why is it that every time i do a blog i have something else come up?  hmmm

At home

by exquisite-flowerComment Published at 11:0411:040 comments0 comments74 Visits74 VisitsReport

Currently at home on a break, the weekend took everything and more out of me.  But it was magnificent.  It ended with a time of celebration and prayer for peace, the world and our local area.  It was great, only 20 mins before it started i was told that i was leading the service though - and I had never done that before, so instead of getting worried I just stood up to the mic and talked.  It was weird cuz each time i stood I had nothing to say, but somehow the right thing always was said.  Anyhow, I will be back here regularly and tkaing part properly again as soon as I am back home and good again.  Miss being here.

I have a prayer room this weekend.  A lot of the info to put up on the walls in my inbox and when i copy/paste to word the document crashes - how dare my word get a virus now of all times.  It is just SO RUDE!  E has been angelic again all day putting up with me yelling at the pc and this evening sleeping through my insults aimed at the pc.  Well, i have been more patient than usual in fairness.  I hope that this virus scan works.  I am off to bed so i can tackle it again in the morning.  Just had to vent somewhere, and this was the closest page.

Kids tire me out!

by exquisite-flowerComment Published at 13:1613:160 comments0 comments99 Visits99 VisitsReport

A friend of mine is a teaching assistant and had to go into work today,so I foolishly agreed to mind her kids in their home.  We did have a great day.  Did loads of art stuff, made ice lollies, went to the park, played on the trampoline and had a water fight.  As well as working on the postcards we are sending out to our Nepali friends in the gift box I am working on.   At the end of the day we then went for a lovely walk in a forest near here that I had never even heard of.  It had adventure playground and all sorts.  I intend to go cycling there as and when i get a bike, it would only be about a half hour out of town to get there and then a quickie around the trails before heading home should give me a good two hours of variable terrain and decent exercise.  I am quite looking forward to it.  This is all for today.

Bedtime routine beat

by exquisite-flowerComment Published at 14:5414:540 comments0 comments97 Visits97 VisitsReport

Well, what a day.  i was so tired this morning that i was just lazy and kinda pottered around in my jammies till i had to have a bath and go out.  Then this evening we had a couple of people come to the door and one was a friend who was over to watch a movie so we could hang out together and kinda quietly celebrate her birthday,.  For the first time ever we seriously tested E's bedtime routine.  It is a five minute routine and is flexible for time etc.  But it worked with my friend arriving and it worked later on as well when she woke cuz the noise of the movie disturbed her but she was straight back asleep straight away.  What a relief, now just to test it out when we visit and stay over somewhere.  I doubt it will be a problem cuz we actually started it while we were house sitting through August, so we were not at home anyhow.

What a lovely feeling it is.

Too much of a good thing

by exquisite-flowerComment Published at 05:4305:430 comments0 comments63 Visits63 VisitsReport
So my daling daughter is fairly close to angelic all week, we are painting at the church, planning the Nepali gift box and the Prayer Room then we go to church this morning, she has to take baby as promised because we didnt have time to collect her on the way to the church last evening so she could be taken for a walk then.  But as with all good things everyone wants a piece of the action.  So what does E do?  She cries, no, she sobs!  My good girl is so noisy that I have to take her out of the church and talk to her.  So I guess we need a break from the church.  Well, we arent there again till weds when we will be finalising the things for the prayer room.  Praise God.  I need a break from that place too. There is such a problem with security that there are cameras everywhere and the minister guy watches them frequently -just because he can.  Well that is what i get from his inferences.   I am tired of being watched...LOL.OK. I am tired.  I best have a lie down before I get on with all this packing that still needs sorting and doing.

What did I do...?

by exquisite-flowerComment Published at 12:4812:480 comments0 comments150 Visits150 VisitsReport

Today we have been sorting out the final bits for the prayer room we are doing (9/11 peace topic) in a weeks time as well as the gift parcel we are sending to the childrens home in Nepal.

The Nepal gifts are all laid out in the church ready to show to all the congregation tomorrow and see if we can muster some more support and gifts.  The idea is that each person gets a personal gift package of three or four items as well as a postcard of our local area - they look so pretty, nothing like how we see the area. LOL.  We are also sending out resources for the school and church and special gifts for the adults who run the home and are often forgotten cuz the children always receive the attention.  G has been an absolute star advising on who may like what and so on.  We have had some parker pens engraved with the names of all the young adults over the age of 18, the 10-17 year olds are getting a wordsearch bookand pencil set, the under 10's are getting a little home made teddybear, and finally the widows who are cared for by the church there are being sent a scarf each.  Somehting bright with which they can accessorise their lovely pashminas.  I just hope I have not left anything or anyone out.  Wouldnt that be terrible.

Again E was with me, and what an angelic kid she is.  She has so much energy and she runs everywhere, yet when we are out she listens when i say stay nearby.  Today her treat was a biscuit.  What a treat - i mean, we have biscuits available most days for alternative snacks to fruit.  She also played an amazing number on the drums - including a finale with a major crash on the cymbals at the end.  It was beautiful.  Maybe I should start her on lessons, though I had wanted her to learn a classical instrumen first - preferably piano since it has the advantage of many other skills.

Still have load of work to do for the prayer room.  H has done loads of prep for me on the research side of it, and with only a week to go I am a little nervous that we will have it presented on time, but knowing me it will be just fine.  Somehow things seem to just fall into place.  Praise God.

Anyhow, enough rambling for today.  I am following the show 'How do you solve a problem like Maria?' and it is due back on in a second.
