Tried leaving radio on at night

Comment Published at 15:2415:243 comments3 comments39 Visits39 VisitsReport
It wasn't very successful.  Madame kept on getting up and turning it back off again so it was interrupting her sleep throughout the night.  I snuck in at 4:30 to turn it on low to see if my alarm would still wake her when the radio started at 6 and her radio woke her at 4:30 so that was the start of our day.  So much fun! NOT!  Will maybe try it again a few times to see if she eventually falls asleep with her radio going.  Maybe if I can get her to sleep with the radio on in her bedroom my alarm won't wake her so easily, it might muffle the sounds.  Thanks to all those who made suggestions on how to get her to sleep a little later.

Re: Tried leaving radio on at night
She seems to be such a light sleeper.  I just want to get her used to sleeping with the noise of the radio.  It's funny isn't it that the neighbours can be having a massive party right next door and she'll sleep through it, but the slightest noise inside the house and she's up.  It's also funny how she wakes to all those noises but I never made the house quiet for her as a baby.  I still did all the normal things, so things like the vacuum cleaner, washing machine, having a shower, all those noises she's so used to she sleeps with it going but I never had music on at night and didn't start using an alarm until I started working longer hours back in March.  I was starting work at 9 before that and working just down the road.  Now I'm starting at 8:30 but it takes 40 minutes to get there so I have to leave way earlier.

Persistence is the key. And making sure that it is very low volume. Just enough that it can be heard. Leisa
