Not long now until miss5 attends school

Comment Published at 18:0818:088 comments8 comments25 Visits25 VisitsReport

Next week will be miss5's last week at Kindy and tomorrow will be her last school visit for the term.

I think she's settled in alright at school with her visits, and she's liking school as all her friends are there. She's got no one really at kindy that are her friends, so i can't wait until she starts school and settles in.

Personally i think she'll be better at school, as she will develop more quickly as there will be older children there, and more to do and will be always occupied and never get bored etc.

I've got mixed emotions at the moment on her leaving kindy for good as she's been there since she was 2, and there's 3 teachers still at the kindy who have known her since then, and it'll be a bit sad to see her leave the kindy, but the Junior Primary staff seem really nice, and can't wait for her start school.

I think miss5 is getting a little sad also as she know's that she's leaving kindy soon too, as she love it there, but that is something she's used too, and know's very well, so she'll be upset more than me i think when she leaves kindy this time next week. She's not her normal happy self for the past few weeks, as she knows things are changing. Poor lil girl. I get all teary eyed at times and i know she can feel it too, as she gets upset too at the littlest of things.

I'm just so proud of how far my little girl has come since she started kindy 3 years ago.

Re: Not long now until miss5 attends school

Hi Kerri,

Haylee didn't do a pre-kindy program, I don't think they even have them in NSW.  She went straight into Kindy and she loved it.  She made friends straight away and now she gets up at 6 and asks if it's time to get ready for school.

I hope Miss 5 enjoys going to Kindy, I'm sure she will however good luck.

Michelle

Hi Michelle.

That's great Haylee loved school and kindy. Makes you feel good about yourself when they enjoy going to both. I'm glad she made friends straight away. I am sure miss5 did make freinds vertually straight away

Sounds as though Haylee has a great attitude towards life, which is great.

Re: Not long now until miss5 attends school

Hi Kerri,

Danesha went to a pre-kindy program between the ages of 2and a half and 5 . . I was more devastated than she was when she moved on to 'big school' . . Danesha was said to leave her 3 carers (teachers) but she was so excited at being a big girl and going to big school . .

I also helped her to write letters about her progress to her old carers, she loved telling them about her week and she loved getting the letters back . . . Perhaps you could try this if Miss 5 has any problems with the move . .

Cheers Kellz

Hey Kellzacar, great to see you again my friend.

Oh, no. Im the opposite in a way, i don't want her to leave kindy, as they've done soooooo much for her, but yeah, im a little scared about her starting school too.

Yeah, that's an excellent idea Kellz. I'm definately going to get Sarah to write letters to her old kindy teachers. they'll love that. Thanks for the great and wonderful idea. Miss5 will definately love it, and so will her teachers.

ALL the best for next week and it is sad when they have to go to school all day ..

You know you can always go in and do some parent help once a week, teachers love that...

I think all mums get a bit teary seeing kids off to school. The teachers are usually fantantic at helping them settle in. I bet in no time at all she'll be saying how much she loves it!

Yeah, i haven't known a mum yet not to get teary. I'll take your word on that, but what i've seen from miss5's teacher so far, she's really good with her, so thanks for that tip. I bet she'll be saying that she loves school in the first month of being there.
