I couldn't help myself yesterday

Comment Published at 15:1815:186 comments6 comments21 Visits21 VisitsReport

I cried in the morning when i dropped my daughter of at kindy and i cried when i picked her up.

I'm sure everyone has been through this. It was so upsetting. Miss5 was holding back the tears when we got there, and when they were singing the goodbye song, and when she saw me and not her dad, she burst into tears, and you could see the teachers holding back the tears too. I burst into tears aswell as miss5 was crying.

It was such a sad time for us all, as she'll be deeply be missed at Kindy. She wanted to stay at kindy yesterday, and not go to school, but she wants to go to school aswell. Poor kid. My heart went out to her yesterday.

She did so much work, and changed so much in the 3 years that she was at Kindy, and looking at the photo's that they put on the disc for us she's matured into a really young girl. Grown up so much. SHe's done so much work while she's been there at kindy. It was so sad to see her leave.

A big change for both of you but one you will be surprised at how quickly you get used to. Enjot the primary school years, they are the easiest and the best!!

Re: I couldn't help myself yesterday

It is a big change for her. She loved the school visits, so lets see how she goes going there all day every day next term. Im hoping too that she doesn't take long to settle down, as some of her old kindy friends are in her class.

Here in SA, if they turn 5 in the middle of the term, they have to wait until the new term starts to start school. That has been the new rule for a while. But when i first started school, once you turned 5 you started school on your birthday.

They have to be 5 in SA to start school and no sooner. Thanks, im hoping it does go well also

Re: I couldn't help myself yesterday

Such a big change for her, especially if she has been in the one place for so long. Hope she loves her new school and that it doesn't take too long for her to settle. Hope she has other friends that are moving up to school with her. Didn't know that some kids change part way through the year. Does it go on age to move up to school, or pre-school there? Do they have to wait til after a birthday? Just wondering how it works but hope all goes well!
