We have just been told that it is our cat that is causing most of the allergy and eczema problems with our son . We told him tonight and he is devastated. He keeps saying, "but I love Pussy so much, please let him stay?" I am a bit upset as well. We got Puddy from the RSPCA just under 3 years ago when my last cat Kimmi was put down (she was 18 and had cancer). I have had a cat since before I was married and will struggle to come to terms without having one around.
We cannot have any furry animals as he will react to them so we are wondering what we can do for a pet.
At the moment our big worry is to find a home for Puddy. He is microchipped, registered and we just finished 14 days locked inside after a trip to the vets to remove an infection from a fight. My wife never really warmed to the cat and she was locking that it may die on the operating table at the vets and just yesterday she was saying that "maybe the blood tests will reveal the Nicholas is allergic to the cat and we will to get rid of it." today she is pretty flat as she got what she wished for.
Poor Nicholas has become really affectionate with Puddy in the last 10 months and his eczema has blown out of control in that time. I only wish we had the blood tests sooner as they are so close now it is going to hurt to separate them.
I know Nicholas will get over this, he is only 4 and he will face a lot more sadness in his life but gee it hurts to watch him grieving tonight.
I only hope we can find a good home for Puddy soon so we can all move on.
We also need to find a decent vacuum cleaner that can help reduce dust mites as we have to keep the carpet and floors spotless and the grass mowed short outside. we also have to have everything steam cleaned and kept spotless so it looks like i will be a full time cleaner for a while.
I hope this fixes the eczema as it would be worth all the effort and pain to see Nicholas rash free and smiling.

Looking forward to no more itchy tummy. |
