Movember

Comment Published at 16:3916:392 comments2 comments11 Visits11 VisitsReport

Well, my first blog entry ever on any website. Never really thought I would be likely to do many blogs, either, so we will wait and see I guess as to how many more entries this one gets.

However, this one is important to me. My dad had prostate cancer last year, and because it was discovered very early, and he was lucky to be pretty fit for his age, and so on, he was able to do a course or radiotherapy and seems to have beaten it.

We are about to hit the month of November, and some good people have hit on the idea of Movember. It is a fundraising exercise where guys grow a moustache for the month of November, and they receive sponsorships or donations, the proceeds of which are used to fight prostate cancer, and also depression.

If you would like more information, log on to www.movember.com.au

If you would like to sponsor me log on to the above, and click on the donate link, my registration number is 1598031.

I am not putting any pressure on people to donate, please feel free to ignore the idea completely.

But at least you will know why there seem to be a few guys around with very dodgy facial hair over the next few weeks!!

Re: Movember

Emmie, with everything you are going through in your life at the moment, you still have enough love in you to be glad that my dad is better. I think that shows what a fantastic person you must be. I checked out your blog and everything after finding your comment on my blog, and I have to say you seem to have had some pretty bad times. But the smile on your face in your photo, and the fact that you are still thinking about others shows how strong you are. I wish you all the very best of luck for your future, you deserve a lot of happiness and good times. Cheers.
