Josephine is almost 2 months old

Comment Published at 18:4118:4111 comments11 comments44 Visits44 VisitsReport

OMG where have the last 2 months gone?

Josephine has had a bit of a rough time of it, they think that there is something wrong with her bladder and kidneys cause she keeps getting UTI's so we've had dye contrast x-rays to see if she is suffering from UTI reflux we get the results of that tomorrow so fingers crossed it does and doesn't show it.

then she's got to have tests done on her tummy cause she keeps vomiting white thick mucus (just like slime that you can buy for the kids) you have to put your finger into her mouth when she vomits to get it all out.  she has only put on 300grams since she was born so they are a little worried about that too.

Charlie is doing really well his health has improved so much in the last few months which is great!! all of his doctors are really happy with him, they are still keeping an eye on his lungs cause they still haven't quite court up to the rest of his body but they are getting there.

he's going to childcare twice a week and loving it, which is great and he's making lots of friends too.

Charlie and Josephine (7weeks)                                           Josephine and her Emmie (5weeks)

Josephine in Lilly's swing (6weeks)            Josephine (6weeks) and Lilly (4weeks)

things are going better than what they have been at first i wasn't copeing all that well, but in the last week i'm starting to get on top of things again which is great i'm starting to enjoy having both the kids.

Lee (Lilly's mummy) and i have started our own mummies group and we have our first meet tomorrow which i'm really looking forward to.  theres 6 of us and 10 kiddies between us so its going to be a lot of fun we can't wait.

my health hasn't been all that great i've been having lots of numbness and tingling in my back hips and legs since having Josephine i've also had it in my arms.  at first they thought it was from the spine block but now they are testing me for MS i'm off to have the brain spine MRI scan next week i've had so much blood taken for testing i'm starting to think if they take much more then i'll have none left lol, i've also have to have testing done on my muscles and other testing but i can't remember what they is for, there is just so much they are doing.

hope everyone is well

After a long and bumpy pregnancy our very beautiful little girl is here *yippee*

Josephine Lesley was born on 16th Febuary 2009 at 13:25pm with the help of a planned c-section.

all went well once they were able to get the spinal block working that took over 1/2 hour to work, and i now have this rather large bruise on my lower back but it was worth it !!

Daddy went with her while they closed me back up and made sure that everything that was meant to be out was and everything that was meant to be in was lol, from what my doctor and hubby have told me i was telling them all to make sure that they had done this before they started to stich lol.

Charlie came up once i was back in my room and was settled in for him i think it was love at first sight lol, he now wont go anywhere without her, and if she crys he has to be there to hold her hand and kiss her little forehead to make it all better, aww

Just after she was born she didn't really cry but she made this little squeaking noise like a mouse, so i've nicknamed her mouse lol.

In her car capsule and all the 4o's that we got her are so big on her,

My beautiful sleeping little girl

yippee we have success - No. 1 and 2's on the big toilet

Comment Published at 23:4323:4311 comments11 comments49 Visits49 VisitsReport

i am one very very PROUD mummy this afternoon!!!

we've just started to potty/toilet train our little man, we've had a potty for almost 12months now and he'll sit on it and that's about it but never for longer than 2seconds at a time.

yesterday we bought one of the padded toilet seats for him and as soon as he sat on it he did a wee i was so very very proud of him, and has been doing a wee each time he sits on it now and today we even did a poo i was so so very proud of him as he has for the last 12months had a lot of troubles pooing.

he is now so funny about the toilet he has come up with this little routine on his own of what he does when he goes to the toilet, he comes and gets you by the hand and leads you to the toilet once in there he puts the light on (day or night lol) puts the lid of the toilet up then takes off his pants and nappy/undies asks you to put him up on the seat, then looks at you and says "doo doo goes down and wee comes" and has a little giggle to himself lol.

we've only been doing this for a few days and i can't get over how well he is doing, I've got friends with boys around his age or older that have had all kinds of trouble but so far so good.

my mum and grandmother are overseas at the moment and every time he does something on the toilet he has to ring them to tell them, its hard to convince him that he has to wait cause of the time difference, but the first call he makes is to his grandfather not his daddy lol, daddy is always last on the call list.

sorry if this has been a bit of a ramble just one very happy proud mummy!!!

hope everyone is well and enjoying their week.

Update on Bub's and I

Comment Published at 00:5500:556 comments6 comments70 Visits70 VisitsReport

hi everyone

well to be honest this time round i was hoping for a much different pregnancy, with my son i spent 6.5 months in hospital and then he wanted out early 31.5 weeks and spent all up 10 weeks in hospital before we could bring him home.

so far with this pregnancy it is almost about the same as my son's.  i have been as sick if not sicker with this bub, I've had now 4 doctors tell me that this is going to be my last pregnancy cause if i was to go for a 3rd it would only kill me.

3 weeks ago i was told that i have had a stroke, not a popped blood vessel but a stroke.  leading up to it i was getting super migraines i would lose feeling in my right arm and get tingling on my left side. at first my doctors thought that it was to do with an old injury from a riding accident, but with all the "safe" test they were proven wrong.  when it started to look like that it was in fact a stroke they then did all the "bad" tests to confirm their fears.

from what  they have told me this is a really rare thing to have happen in pregnancy.  there really isn't much information out there on it, there is lots on stroke itself but not much to do with pregnancy.  my doctor is still trying to get more information for me.

at this stage they think that bub's is fine and wasn't effected by the stroke. so fingers crossed.  but i know that bub's is ok cause there seems to be a non stop party happening in there that's for sure lol.  with my son coming at 31.5 weeks they are saying that this bub will come around the same time but they are going to do everything that they can to keep bub's in there for just a little longer.

i still haven't gotten all the feeling back in the right arm but am getting there.

because of all of this my heart is now a little weaker and they aren't to sure why, I've had to walk around for days with heart monitors on to see what my heart is doing, one minute its fine and then the next it's racing and i have a pain in my chest, or it goes really slow and then really fast,  the doctors have told me that when this happens I'm to call and ambulance and get to the nearest hospital as they don't know what will happen.

so between the non stop vomiting (and the Zofren not working anymore) and all the other things that have been happening. i am trying really hard to stay positive about everything.

next Friday we are off for our 19 week scan and to find out what this partying bub is, this is something i am really looking forward to, and i am really hoping for a little girl. but I'll be happy as long as bub's is healthy.

I'm booked in for a c-section on the 24th Feb 09 at this stage just got to get there first.

9 weeks and a week in hospital :o(

Comment Published at 23:3823:3810 comments10 comments57 Visits57 VisitsReport

i love this pic of bub's

for the last week i've been hospital with HYPEREMESIS GRAVIDARUM - my ketones levels were high, my kidneys were slowly starting to shut down cause of not been able to keep any fluids or food in my system. i had been vomiting to the point of blood for 4 days straight, what ever i ate or drank it would just come straight back up again :o(.

cause of all this my liver functions were also low and the doctors were starting to worry, i had 2 drips and a cocktail of meds ( still on them all ). and will be from what its looking like for the rest of the pregnancy. my doctor is also thinking now of bring bub's a little earlier than though also instead of a month it might be as early as but my son was born at. but we wont know for a few more weeks yet.  and cause  of this its making it hard to book into hospital too lol.

my doctor feels that i might be in hospital every 2 weeks for top ups of fluids and other needs to try and keep everything looking good.  i also have to see either my OB or GP every 2 days to check on ketones, kidney function and liver function and any sign of these starting to not look good its straight back to hospital for me.

hope everyone is doing great

bub's scan pic's at last

Comment Published at 21:4421:4412 comments12 comments56 Visits56 VisitsReport

sorry its taken me a while to put up the first pic of bub's.

the ultrasound place doesn't give pic's or the films to you until you see your doctor and today was the first chance I've had to get to the doctor.

bub's is measuring 5.3mm and is 5 weeks 4 days in this pic. (between the little white x's)

it was a little early for the heart beat so I'm off for another scan on Tuesday of next week, and this time hubby can come with me.
