My husband came home with some very exciting news... he has been nominated for Rotary's Police Officer of the Year!  Not only is this great for him but we get to go to a Blacktie dinner - a chance to dress up without kids! Plus dinner and drinks. I'm very excited. I ...

This post is from from my other blog here

I read an interesting article in the paper today about how the clothes we wear reflect how we feel about ourselves.  I don't know what that says about me at the moment. Life with two boys at home doesn't readily lend itself to glamour but I do my best! Having ...

Tired of feeling tired, unfit and lacking in energy I today took the plunge and joined the gym! I feel energised already at thought and yes I promise to go regularly. I thought it would be a good chance for 'me time' even if it ends up at some ungodly hour in the ...

New Breastfeeding Support Group

This post is from from my other blog here

After undertaking some research for my online store Nuvo Maternity I have discovered some worrying facts about the lack of support for breastfeeding. A recent article in the Courier Mail found that although around 90% women start breastfeeding this figure falls dramatically by 6 months. The major reasons for stopping early ...

The confidence trick!

This post is from from my other blog here

Well I've been tagged by madmadmummy to talk about confidence.  It is something I've always struggled with. On the outside I'm a very outgoing, happy, confident person but there is always a niggling doubt beneath the surface. Along the way though I've learnt a few tricks to give myself a ...

gillygirl.minti.com Things have been busy around here with new winter stock arriving for Nuvo Maternity and everything always seems to happen at once (such as the dreaded BAS). My kids in particular seems to know when things are hectic so I've decided I need to slow down and do things bit by ...

Little Boy Lost!

by gillygirlComment Published at 21:3821:380 comments0 comments7 Visits7 VisitsReport

I had a very frightening experience this week. I took my two little boys to a free Easter festival as my husband was working and kids were going stir crazy. Now for those of you who have read my previous posts I know what you are thinkin - "is this lady crazy? Crazy no - desperate to get out of the house - YES!

I was so proud of myself - It was all going so well, train rides, face painting, food, fire engine and then the animal farm. My eldest simply did not want to leave the pigs. After insisting it was time to go back home he refused. Then as I turned my back to place no 2 son in his stroller, he you guess it - did the runner - AGAIN!!!

This time I had to get security and the police at the festival to find him. Thank goodness it only took 5-10 minutes (mind you felt like a lot more) they found little spiderman (face paint came in handy) at the back of the jumping castle. He simply smiled at me and went back to jumping.

This child will be the END of me!!! Never, ever, again.....
