I was born in Rhode Island, where my Dad was a Navy pilot, my Mom a homemaker. I grew up in western New York. I have three brothers, all with families of their own.
I married 25 years ago, but we are divorcing. Nothing too dramatic, we just grew apart. I never expected it.
My first daughter - LM - was born in 1986. She was born with spina bifida. We found out about it the moment she was born. She's had many surgeries, etc. over the years and is now in college. I'm very proud of her. LM has the best memory I have ever seen.
My second daughter - KN - was born in 1991. She is in high school. I'm also very proud of her. KN is very wise - she can read people very well.
Both girls are pretty, shy and artistic. Both have good friends, with LM being the more outgoing one. Just like when they are young like 5 or 6, when you think back to when they were babies, when the kids grow up you also look back and think about the times you had together. I remember we took LM to California and I remember her sitting on the white beach in Santa Barbara. I remember we went to Disneyworld when KN was young, and she fell asleep just before the fireworks. Our last vacation was to Virginia Beach and we had a great time in the waves finding shells, riding the four-wheel bike/car on the boadwalk and seeing the ponies on that island at the Virginia/Maryland border. Both girls are just about grown up now.
I have an apartment. KN has been over once and LM has not been over. While I reach out to my daughters frequently and I miss them an aweful lot, I ...
