Me and My Family

[see all me and my family]

Hi, My name is Angela.  I am an American living in Australia.  My husband, Dean, is an Australian in the Australian Army .  I have been here 4 years.

I met my husband in the USA in 2000 when I was going through a divorce and he was as well.  We were neighbors.  Lets just say he was very neighborly!!!  Anyway, he returned to Australia for 2001.  I came to visit and was deeper in love with him than I thought possible.  But there was a bit of a problem  He had 2 kids (Melissa and Cameron) from his first marriage and a vasectomy to prevent any more.  I had no kids and wanted them desperately.  He was clear that he wanted no more (established early on in our relationship).  But, I threw caution to the wind and asked him if he would consider changing his mind.  His answer was no.  I considered whether or not I would be satisfied being a stepmother to his kids and my answer was NO!  I had long craved pregnancy, labor, delivery, and motherhood.  So I felt our continuing relationship was not to be.  So I left Australia thinking our relationship was over, knowing he was returning to the USA the end of the year.  I dreaded the though of being on the same continent as him and not being together.

I decided it was time to move on with my life.  I bought a new car.  I started dating again (although my heart wasn't into it).  Then he came to his senses and asked me to marry him!  I couldn't say yes until he said what I needed to hear.  And he said, "How many kids to you want?"  I was speechless.  I still couldn't say yes until a day later.  I was in ...

Haven't been on here in ages.  Hi everybody!

Well a couple of things to pass along...

I am now officially an Aussie.  Did the citizenship ceremony on Wed night!  Woo Hoo.

And now that I am an Aussie, it looks as if we will be moving back to the USA!  Dean has a job interview at the end of the month in Houston and fingers crossed he gets the job!   Then we will try to get there asap.  His immigration paperwork is already in so we are in a waiting game at the moment.

Exciting stuff.  Hope you all are well.

The sun shone down on us today!

Finally!  First time in ages.  Steve said it has rained every day he has been here!  But today was beautiful.  A bit on the cool side but nice.

Met up at Stickybeaks Cafe at Kings Park in Perth.  Lucky enough to meet veejay (Vicky) and her husband Roy and August88 (Lynette) came as well.

Vicky and Roy were there first and were wise enough to look on the profiles to see what people looked like.  They were there first, followed by Dean, Harrison, and Me, then Lynette shortly after.  Then the guest of honor arrived!  Yay Steve.

He was as lovely as I imagined he would be!  Would have to be!  We sat around and had coffees and chatted, then moved onto lunch and chatted.  Very nice morning/afternoon.

Thanks Steve for being brave enough to hang out with the hot Minti Chicks in Perth!

Damn I'm slack!

Ok, so I know I need to put up my Hawaii photos.  Sorry I have been so terribly slack.

But the real reason I am on here is to remind you I am meeting Mr Janice Povey (aka Steve) on Sat.  Weather is going to be crappy, but we will have fun.
