Globe trotting yet again...

Comment Published at 20:1520:1516 comments16 comments63 Visits63 VisitsReport

Well, Hubby is off to the USA and Canada for 12 days!  And not only is he going to my country, but he is going to my state...and he is driving down to have dinner with my dad, grandmother, and brother and his family.  Can't even stand it!  I should be there!  But, that is going to be only 1 of 2 days of pleasure.  The rest of the time will be spent working or travelling.

I am so happy that Harrison is well.  The past few trips away, Harrison has been sick or gotten sick.  Fingers crossed he stays well.  He has been unwell for nearly a month now but seems to have turned the corner and is on the way to recovery!

We have passed the 7 week mark for our trip to the USA and packing of the house.  There is so much to do to get ready...I can't stand it.  I don't even know where to begin.  I have to christmas shop for those in the US and Australia.  I could always but gifts for USA people while in the US and even get my Australian family gifts from there as well...hmmm now theres a  thought!

Then of course, I want to do all of those personal things before we go since I don't know when I will secure a doctor in Perth...optomatrist and dentist.  Gotta get my hair done before I go.  Cleaning out my closets of those that I don't, can't, or won't wear.  Oh, I don't want to think about it.

And of course, I spend time online chatting and surfing so I waste my precious child free time sitting on my fat one ticking away at the keyboard!  One day I will get myself together.  Until then, here I am!

Take care all-Angela

Hi Angela, do understand your countdown, til hubby comes. home. The first few days, seem ok but then you start watching the clock, which seems to take forever. Sounds like you have a busy time ahead of you...try to pace yourself  and of course you can always  take a breather on minti, hehe! A big thing moving, i wish you all the very best in your new adventure and of course a fantastic time in the USA.

Love Janice

Re: Globe trotting yet again...

Thanks Janice, you are right, as the days go by, it does get harder for him to be away.

Unfortunately, I seem to spend a little too much time on my computer...need to be a bit more active doing stuff before we move!

Take care,

Angela

Hey there!

Long time no hear (or read in this situation).  Thanks for your thoughts...Harrison lasted about 2 days without a runny nose...but luckily, he is still well.

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

Hey Angela

How awful for you not being able to come over with Dean  not long now though and you will be able to see your family again too  Dean is coming at a nice time of year, it has really cooled down now and we have daily temps of 80's - 90's .. bad thing though it is really dry again and my skin is drying out like a raisin!!!

Oh and your child-free time is for you to do whatever makes you feel good so don't feel guilty!!

Hi Lorna,

It was sad for me to not be there, but good that he was able to see my family.  Poor love, no sleep on the plane (15 hr flight), only a few hours at the hotel and then a  2 hour drive to see my family.  He's a good boy!

I can't wait until we get there!  I am so excited....only 6 weeks!

so sorry your husband is going to get to see the family without you, but in a few short weeks you'll be there as well.  Good luck with the packing.

Re: Globe trotting yet again...
You don't have a fat one, and your lovely hair is shiny bright and beautiful... Save that until a week or so before you go.  As for packing, it is a pain, hopefully we will be doing the same thing soon - hoping to move our back sides to the beach side.

Glad that Harrison is happy and healthy, and I know it will be tough with Dean away - especially where he is.  If it were me I would definitely be so green eyed and the claws would be out like a little wild cat... LOL!

Re: Globe trotting yet again...

Thanks Lui...you are a sweetie...

I am always a little wild...and sometimes catty!  Hehe.

He had a great time with my family. Glad he got to see them.  Even if it was for such a short time.

Hope you all get the move like you wish.  Fingers crossed for you.  What a great place to be.  Best of luck to you all.

Hehehe.  Minti best distraction in the world  I should be catching up on the washing, but need time here! lol.  Kids driving up the wall, almost across the ceiling! lol,

sounds like you are super busy.  Hope you take your time getting it all done.  Rushing seems to lead to forgetting something.  Yeah, for us, last time we went out, it was the house keys!lol.  Oh, and locking the back door!lol.

Enjoy Christmas in US.  Bring me back some snow! lol.

Ah yes, Minti...it is a bit of an addiction isnt' it?

As for the snow...shouldn't be too much of that in Tucson where we are going.  But never say never!

Re: Globe trotting yet again...

Thanks Izzy!  I just can't wait.  I haven't spent Christmas with my family in 5 years.  I am so excited about having a cold (as cold as it can be in Arizona) Christmas.  I still haven't gotten used to the summer weather for Christmas that it is in the southern hemisphere...just doesn't feel like Christmas to me.  And I have to say that the Americans really put on the Christmas spirit with the decorations and christmas carols everywhere you go.  I can't wait.

Rest is going to be hard to come by before we leave.  But, hoping that the day before we go is a quiet one (house all packed therefore we are all packed).  Rest when we get there will be easy.  Not too many plans just yet.

Take care-Angela
