I was just thinking about an incident that happened quite  a few years ago, when i was about eighteen( that's a LOT of years ago!) any way , i was a maintenance worker at a Hungry jacks store in oakleigh(i guess that's burger king to all those in the US) and this lady came into the store to get burgers etc, pushing a stroller with a boy that was obviously at least five years old, the boy was chomping on an old chewed up dummy, and me, being young and dumb i suppose, was very quick to judge this lady. i didn't say anything of coarse, but i thought plenty, then one day years later i found myself pushing my four year old autistic son down the street in a stroller and he was munching away on his sleeves and various parts of the stroller, and i stopped dead in my tracks as i remembered that lady and all of a sudden i realized how ignorant i had been as a young man, that lady may have been the slackest laziest woman in the world or she may have been trying to deal with a tragic condition in an ignorant world (esp people like me at the time) looking back i suspect that the boy in the stroller that day was suffering from some form of autism related disorder, i am so thankful that i kept my opinions to my self that day as i have been on the receiving end of the same sort of ignorance regarding our son Zack, i have never forgiven myself for thinking what i thought however, it just goes to show how important awareness  really is,  Ian

I think......
we have all been judgmental at some point of our lives, and being at a young age and a non parent it is easy to do.At least you have learnt to be aware of this very human tendency, some never learn PMSL
