Are those fastfood playareas for mommies too?

Comment Published at 19:4319:436 comments6 comments144 Visits144 VisitsReport

For dinner, we went to Chick-Fil-A. It's a chicken only fast food restaurant with a play area for kids, much like McDonald's. I let Matthew play in there after eating. He climbed up to the tunnel. There were about 10 kids, a few were older kids (about 7 yrs old). One in particular took interest to Matthew. She asked me how old he was and when I told her he's only 1, she took care to assist him in climbing up. She also warned the other kids to be careful of the baby.

So Matthew was up there, having a good old time. But after 10 minutes or so with other kids running up and down and sliding, I got a little worried that he may get knocked down. I started calling him but it didn't seem like he could hear me. The little girl said it didn't seem like he wanted to leave yet. I got a little worried so I climbed up too! The whole time I was afraid the thing would collapse because of my big old butt. My husband, who was still eating and watching us through the glass window got worried too and came in. He called out to Matthew. He climbed on something and said that from what he could see, Matthew was playing with a propeller. Anyway, I called and called and he wouldn't come to me or go down the slide. I climbed up the stairs, but I really didn't go into the tunnel myself. Finally, I guess Matthew decided that he had enough time where he couldn't see either me or daddy and came down the slide. Phew!

A couple of other momma's got in the playarea as well, probably to see what was going on. One momma said that she had to crawl in after her son too when she was 7 months pregnant. Yikes!

oh my god, all i can say is i am SO glad that i can say it's been years now since i've been up in the damn tubes at chic-fil-a!!!  lol.  not fun, but repeatedly necessary.  i always had a kid who'd get stage fright at the top and not be able to get down.  all my pity and sympathy, sistah.

Thanks. This was my first time and the whole time I was worried I was going to be kicked out by an employee. But you're absolutely right though, I"m sure this will not be an isolated incident.

Dinner

I don't see why they can't be for mommies too!! Like the McDonalds, you can sit in there with your kids in the playroom. Its open for a certain amount of hours. Also.. even Burger King has a play area, don't think you can eat in there as well(like mc donalds) but i think parents are allowed in there with their kids.. expecially with younger kids, like matthew for example!

I am glad that he never got hurt. And that he came back to you and daddy!

Been there, done that Izzy.  At a Chuckee Cheese no less.  Who thought about putting those darn things in there?!  My family and the rest of the patrons got a real kick out of it.  Glad I destroyed the negatives...
