Since Friday night when the doctor ordered that Katie be on the nebulizer every 4 hours for her bronchitis, it's been a heck of a weekend. Somehow, I think Jordan knows that her sister is needing a bit more attention and has decided to help her out. She has decided she'd be waking up every 3 hours. Oi.
To top it all off, I've been having a hard time sleeping. But I'm too worried about Katie to really mourn about my loss of sleep.
Then came last night. Since I've been sleeping in our room so that I could closely monitor the twins, my husband has been sleeping in Matty's room (which he doesn't usually do). At 3 am last night while I was holding Katie on the nebulizer, in came my husband cursing. He said he hasn't been able to sleep since he went to bed at midnight because Matty has been crying and grunting all evening long. (I think I managed to interject in the middle of the cursing that Matty sometimes does that and I've just learned to sleep through it.)
Finally, I took pity on him and said he could go and sleep in our bedroom and I will sleep with Matty. I just asked him to listen if Katie starts coughing uncontrollably.
To make the long story short, I'm operating on about 6 total hours of good sleep since Friday night. Oh, and I got 30 minutes of excellent sleep on the lounge chair when the hubby and I decided to watch Bourne Ultimatum last night. |
