Well done big boy, great writing! My DD1 could write her name letters at about his age, but she insisted on writing the "a" like a spiral with a dot in the middle until Preschool finally persuaded her to do "grown up" lower case "a"s just before she started school. One stubborn young lady! If they enjoy writing then great, go with the flow, it will make school a lot easier when he gets there, Im sure!
I used that book with Emily! It is a great one. The big deciding factor for me was the great price!
You are ambitious, though! I think Big Bro is about the same age as Thiago, and I am in no way motivated enough to work on that stuff with him yet! Just colors and shapes! I didn't use it with Emily til she was 4! I'm glad it's going well for you two!
Well, no.. not ambitious at all. My boy is 3 yrs 4 months and has been attending a preschool since he was 2 years old when I couldn't move anymore being pregnant with the twins. So he actually knows a lot from school. I just wanted to help with the things he's having a tough time on, and getting a head start on writing skills.
Though I better get motivated since I am planning on only putting the boy to preschool 3x a week on Sept instead of full time.
I guess pre-school probly would make a difference in what they know, huh? Thiago hasn't gone. I probly won't get him in one for another year. (It sounds like he's a month older than Big Bro.)
How do you feel about doing all the writing prep and things like that that are the focus in a lot of places even before kindergarten? Do you think it's necessary these days? There is a lot they have to know just to do well in kindergarten that we didn't need when I was a kid!
