cooking for the family

Comment Published at 13:3213:325 comments5 comments34 Visits34 VisitsReport

I haven't cooked in a while, but it's time to get back to it. We're eating unhealthy foods, not to mention it's expensive. I have just finished making a meal plan for the next 2 weeks (cooking 4 times a week), and it's not easy feat! My son only eats chicken (occassionally hot dogs and hamburgers) and fruits and no vegetables, except carrots, my husband only eats meats and potatoes, the girls can't eat anything with milk products, and I don't like bland food! Oh boy. We'll see how this goes.

Re: cooking for the family

This sounds a bit like my family

my daughter's vegan, I can't eat things with gluten in and the other two eat only meat, Poor Phina opens all the windows when they cook.

It's better now they can get their own food cooked, I know it's a long time for you to wait, I hope you manage to get round it

Good luck - that sounds like a rare old challenge! Perhaps M is old enough now to help you prepare some veggies - maybe he would feel like trying them if he "made" them? Sounds like less of a challenge than changing DHs habbit!

Oh, Izzy what a job you have ahead of you, good luck with it all.  Well done for being organised.  My son also just eats carrots, maybe mushrooms but thats about it.   Try cooking a tomato sauce and put it over the veges it may work.  Sometimes does with us.
