Thing 1 found her brother's harmonica today and tried it out. It took her but a short time to figure out how to play it. And then she wouldn't let Thing 2 try it out.
Thing 2 doesn't feel good today. This is about the liveliest she's been all day. She's vomited a couple of times and have diarrhea. The sad thing is, I am feeling nausea too. I do hope it doesn't mean my daughter is contagious!

My son discovered the little hill on our driveway. Due to some design flaw of the builder, out driveway is higher than the lawn (making the lawn flood easily), but leave it up to a 3 year old to find the fun in everything.
I find it hilarious that the entire time, he was making sure that I was getting everything on camera.
(Pardon my loud voice. I took this video with my BlackBerry; while the video quality sucks, the audio is very good apparently) |

We took Curious George to the Aviation Museum since he's been interested in planes lately. It was a small museum and it was a cold day, so there weren't many people around, which made it easy for us to let the girls work around. Thing 1 (in pink) was very interested in the engines. |

I just made reservations for my not-so-small-family to spend the week before Christmas at Walt Disney World in Florida, USA. Talk about early, huh? There is definitely plenty of time to save up and this way, the plan is concrete. No changing minds! Now the problem is how will we ever wait that long. |

I am reminding members that articles with limited advertisement (a few lines at the end) and those that has content relating to family/parenting is allowed. Here is what Matthew posted about it a while ago:
Hi Minti Folks
Recently there have been a number of new articles appearing with some highly relevant and well written parenting advice which also have links back to the originating author's website/business.
We have a very strict policy about "purely" promotional use of the article area of the website and if someone ONLY wants to sell something we ask that they post it into their blog, HOWEVER...
...we are very welcoming to authors whose primary focus is on "parenting advice" and who also wish to make some complementary promotional comments at the end of their article.
In fact we actively SEEK OUT professional writers or organisations who would like to add their well thought out content to Minti and only wish to have a paragraph at the end linking back to their own website. The reason for this is that most members are looking for good advice, if the final paragraph (generally less than 10-15% of the advice page) happens to link to the author's site then the parenting reader is still happy to have read the good advice.
So I would ask that people please refrain from reporting authors who add a small paragraph/promotional link back to their own site at the end of a good article... if the majority of an article is promotional then go ahead and report it !
thanks for this opportunity for clarification

I just saw the movie "The Other Boleyn Girl" for the first time a couple of nights ago. At the end of the film, I asked my husband if he knew the reason whyGreat Brittain separated from the Catholic Church (not to test his knowledge, but to test whether the movie was fact or fiction). His answer was close to the movie and so I became intrigued. I hated history in high-school and University (it's like foreign language to me) so naturally, I never retained any information. But oh, this story is trully intrigued me.
Immediately after the movie, I searched the internet for information about King Henry VIII and the Boleyn family. As if I weren't intrigued enough, I find the whole Tudor Dynasty and the era fascinating. So today, I made a detour to the library on the way home from my physical therapy. This is the first time I have the girls with me to the library, and that was an experience. They squeeled the entire time! Thankfully, there weren't many people there. I searched the catalog quickly and came home with 3 fairly ginormous books. I've started reading the first, "Six Wives: The Queens of Henry VIII".
I'm so excited about this. I feel like I'm back in the University doing research for a paper, only I never got this excited for research paper ever! lol

Here are my 3 trouble makers monkeying around on Christmas at the in-laws. All the presents have already been opened, and all the toys inspected, and so they are just watching TV together. |

My little man has been asking about getting old and dying. Unfortunately, he was introduced to the topic of dying when he found a dead rabbit in the driveway about 3 months ago. At first he clearly thought that being dead is not permanent. But as months passed by, he is beginning to get the idea. He told me one day, "I don't want you and Daddy to die." I explained to him that everyone gets old and die. He then got very sad and repeated what he said. By this time, I told him that Mommy and Daddy are not going to die for a long time and added that when people die they go to heaven and become angels. Now he says, "I don't want you and Daddy to become angels!"
