| Tobias and Joshua |
Well hello, so you want to know a bit about me. Okay here goes,
My name is Bek and I am 28 yrs old. My DH is Aaron and he is 30. We have been married for 7 years and have been blessed with 2 boistrous and adorable boys (even if I do say so myself). We live in the Adelaide suburbs in South Australia and I love it here. We have only been here a short time but it is such a beautiful place and coming from Melbourne, a little bit slower in pace which is definitely not a bad thing!!
Now my boys:
Joshua is 6 and is as smart as a whip, although being 6 still does the odd silly thing (well not so odd, how about once every 10 mins). Josh started school this year and is doing really well, we have (and still do) had some behavioural issues with him, mostly at play time, but they seem to be resolving themselves. He loves to read and write and though being in Reception (first year of school here) he is reading at a grade 1 level. I don't think I would necessarily call him gifted but he is definitely above average. He is really into anything with Superpowers and just loves to have fun. He is a great singer and one day he will be on stage doing something, anything. He is a performer and often puts on shows for us.
Tobias is 2 and is as cute as a button and makes me love being a Mum. He is definitely my strongest willed child who challenges me with almost anything. He is also so very generous and loves to help out with whatever I might be doing at the time. He is a caring boy and adores his big ... |

I have been speaking to my mum the other day and found out that my Dad has been experiencing a bit of chest pain the last week or so. He went in for an angiogram and they decided the only way they were going to be able to clear the blockage was surgery. So tomorrow morning he is going to be going under the knife for a Coronary Artery Bypass. I would really appreciate any prayers that you can offer up for him and my mum. To top all this off my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer of the kidneys, with secondary metastisis on the lungs, liver and spots on the bowel. She is palliative and my mum is struggling with what to do with her. We all live in different states which makes it increasingly harder. I am in South Australia, Mum and Dad in New South Wales and Grandma in Victoria.
Okay that is enough of a saga for now. |

My not so little boy is turning 6 in a little over a week and I am organising his shindig which will be happening on the 16th June. I am still coming to terms with the fact that is already June - where did the first half of the year go?? So anyway, he is having a Pirate Party and I have some pretty cool things organised for the kids. I have bandanas, eye-patches, pretend earings, and special pirate themed prizes for the winners of different games. I will be giving all the kids pirate names and having games like Ships Ahoy, Pass the Parcel, Cannon Ball Fight & Treasure Hunt. It is going to be a blast. I will need to make sure my DH takes a heap of photos so that I can share them. |

I am having a lot of trouble at the moment with Joshua (6 in 9 days). The main thing we are dealing with just the attitudes that we get from him. Everything that we ask him to do or say gets a response. A lot of it is just plain silly like telling him to put his pj's on and he tells us he has when quite obviously he hasn't. Everything is a battle and I am truly at my wits end with him. He really is such a sweet boy but gee I get sick of doing battle with him. I have been doing a bit of reading lately, in different discipline strategies, and am thinking of implementing a few things like house rules that we can all decide on and setting the consequences for the behaviour infringements. I hope this works. Now I just have to get DH on board. |
