This post is from from my other blog here School started in August - Jake is in gr. 1 and loves it! He starts hockey on the 3rd of October and starts skating on the 6th. I have started taking a dance class - it is only once a week - Thursday nights - and it is after the kids are in bed. It is so much fun! I have never taken any dance classes before, and it is obvious!! I am having such a good time, learning so much and doing something new! My mom and dad are coming out for Thanksgiving. That'll be nice. This Thanksgiving is also my birthday! 31 - oh my! Very good friends of ours have added to their family! Welcome and hugs to Brent, Lori and Bryon's new baby boy, and brother to Amanda! I did my first trail race out in Canmore in September. I finished 4th in my class - sounds good until I tell you that there were only 6 in my class! lol There was a 7.5km run, a 13km run and a 21.5km run. I did the 7.5km in 1 hour 8 minutes. Rather slow, yes, but at least I finished. Road races are completely different than trail races. I think that I prefer trail running - unfortunately there is not a lot of trail terrain around here!!! |

This post is from from my other blog here Kolby at Paco Wayne's house. Papa's 60th birthday cake. The crazy frog that made it up onto the upper deck! The great balloon escapade. The Berg GIRLS! Yes, that is a Mohawk - he insisted, I complied, he LOVED it! Hanging from the cherry tree!! Too much fun Lindsey's first OREO cookie! My love - looking as handsome as ever as his BF's best man at the wedding in July. Jacob, Kolby, Lindsey and myself left on June 30th for the lake. We stayed there, with a few side trips, until August 14th. We got tanned, went swimming, did plenty of walking, visited with family, went to the waterslides, learned how to wii, went to a wedding, went to the Wildlife Park, went to Penticton, had sleep-overs in Kamloops at my mom's and generally had a fantastic time. We enjoyed the farmer's markets, spent time with the cousins and in-laws, MOWED THE LAWN!!, kissed plenty of booboos and bandaged some more serious scrapes!
Kolby learned how to go to the bathroom on the toilet, Jacob almost learned how to read - he is getting much better every day, Lindsey learned that she loves cake and really developed her own personality. I learned that I rely on Keith much more than I thought I did. I have started selling Passion Party products. I have my own website and can take orders online too. Home parties are the way that the product mostly gets out there - that is when I start having parties!! lol http://jenniferberg.yourpassionconsultant.com/ is where you go to look at all of the product and to see what specials are upcoming! |

This post is from from my other blog here Jake had his wrap up tournament this weekend for lacrosse. He had 1 game Friday night, and 2 games Saturday. He has a potluck bbq with the team on Tuesday at the park, but other than that, his season is over! Clap Clap Clap He scored during the 2nd period of the first game against the Okotoks team! He ran the ball down the floor, deaked a couple guys and shot from about 20 feet out and scored in the top corner over the goalie's shoulder!~! It was a good shot, Jake said he saw the hole and just aimed for it. He also got a penalty which brings his total pentaly minutes for the season to around 10. Oh, I am sooo proud! His first goal... what a kid! |

This post is from from my other blog here The time I mean. Where has is gone?! Jacob, kolby, Lindsey and myself went out to the lake for a week at the end of April. It was nice, the weather was decent and I had a really good visit with Lalena and the kids. We had a celebration with fun food and treats for all the kids. It was really great! Keith's parents are now officially residents there, and their first weekend as residents was the same weekend we were out there! We all went out for May long weekend. Keith picked up his motorbike - which was Wayne's. Unfortunately for Keith, the weather and opportunity have not been kind to his chances of getting out for a ride. Jake had his first lacrosse tournament in April too. He played 1 game on the Friday, 2 games on the Saturday and then 1 game on the Sunday. During his second game on Saturday, he was voted, by the other team, to get the Heart & Hustle Award! The tourney was in Okotoks, about 1 hour south of here. That was officially my first taste of travelling for sports. He has his wind-up tournament this weekend, on the south side of Calgary this time. Keith celebrated his 32nd birthday in May. No special events or parties. His brother celebrated his 27th birthday in May too. I'm still working at Coop. Well, I'm employed, but I don't really work so much! I have 1 four hour shift a week - if that. It is just a nice break from my regular routine. Plus I get paid AND I have no responsibilities! Kolby and Jacob are in gymnastics and seem to really enjoy it. Kolby isn't very good at following direction, but he sure LOVES jumping on the trampoline. Lindsey gets a break and spends an hour with some other kids who play very nicely with her! Thanks Michelle! My uncle had a heart attack. He is okay, and doing well. Scary though. He's not very old, early 40's or so. I am sending him and the fam the best thoughts I can. Sorta makes you re-evaluate what you're doing, and how you're doing things when a bombshell like that drops into your life. I am going to spend 5 or 6 weeks out at the lake this summer. Stay with Keith's parents, visit my darling neice and nephews and have some good time with my SIL & BIL. I will definately get to spend some Q time with my mom and dad in the Loops too. |

This post is from from my other blog here This year for Easter my mom and dad suggested that we have a tropical fruit experience. We had dragon fruit, mangos, papaya, brazil fruit, pineapple, lychee fruit, black grapes, rambutan, grapples, longan, kiwi, some sort of pears and tangerines. The grapples are neat - they are apples infused with grape juice. Look like an apple, but taste like a crunchy grape! The lychee fruit, rambutan and longan did not go over well - at all. But the kids were totally into everything else! We had banana muffins, cheese sticks, sausage rolls and sugar cookies too. Lindsey turned the big one on the 15th! She had a Strawberry Shortcake birthday cake, which she loved to bits! Here is Lindsey trying to put the lens cap back on the camera. Just a couple of pics of Jacob and Kolby being hams!

This post is from from my other blog here Jake had strep, Lindsey and Kolbs had ear infections, I had a sinus infection and water on the ear (whatever that means). Keith was sick, he had a bit of everything I think, sore throat, stuffed head, achy tired body! We were a real ugly bunch for while there! So training for the 5 and 10 k road races has been moving along. I've suffered serious shin and leg pain, bitter cold temperatures, being sprayed with gravel (totally my fault) and body exhaustion. BUT, I can do 4k no problem and should be able to do the 5k with a strong finish on the 20th. The 10k in May wil be a challenge, but I am actually looking forward to forcing my body to do it. Maybe it is forcing my brain actually? Either way I am looking forward to more road races in the future. I'd really like to do a trail race - still have more time before I could do that though. The Mother's Day Run event is held yearly and raises funds for the Calgary Health Trust. Specifically the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Units. Jacob was in Intensive Care for a, thankfully, brief amount of time. Knowing what it feels like to worry about your newborn, I would like to show my support for all the moms and dads who have to go through the pain of unknowing what is happening with their baby. The money is used to purchase equipment to better diagnose and treat those little babies. You can help me show support by sponsoring my run. Thank you in advance for your financial and/or moral support. https://eventsonline.ca/cgi-bin/events/forzani_cal/pledge.pl?id=JME0954665www.mdrunandwalk.com |

This post is from from my other blog here Wednesday March 12th is wacky hair day at school for Jake. We looked for coloured hairspray only to be disappointed. After dismissing the Kool-Aid and food colouring routes, I decided that I would use craft paint. Here's the finished product! |

This post is from from my other blog here It is absolutely beautiful outside today. We spent most of the morning cleaning up the backyard, and then Lindsey and I went inside and Kolby and Jacob played until after lunch. They came in covered from head to toe in dirt and sand and as happy as can be! I have blisters on the skin between the thumb and the pointer finger from raking! YIKES do they hurt. I entered the Tour De Airdrie which will be on April 20. I entered to do the 5k, but there are 10k and 21K races too. I am definately not ready for a 21K, I will have to start really working harder to do a 5K in a good time. The race is for raising money and awareness for Family Violence. I hope that this race will be the first of many! I really want to do the 10K Mother's Day Race in Calgary. I must start extending my running route. I checked out the race plan for the Tour De Airdrie and it looks like it is almost all flat, thankfully! There is a slight incline right off the bat and then a slight decline, but the rest is flat! It'll be a scenic route too. www.tourdeairdrie.com |

This post is from from my other blog here The Progressive Conservative Party took 73 of the 83 seats available in the Legislative Assembly. Liberals secured 8 and the NDP got 2. No Green, No WildRose, No Independents. 88% of the LA is controlled by the PC party. The candidate in our area had over 7000 more votes that the next closest rival, who wasn't a Liberal, but a WilRose Alliance member. 7000 votes out of only 14978. AIRDRIE-CHESTERMERE Polls Reporting: 90/90 Party Candidate %of votes Votes PC Rob Anderson 62.6 9,372 WAP Jeff Willerton 15.8 2,360 LIB John Burke 13.2 1,972 GRN David Brandreth 4.4 660 NDP Bryan Young 4.1 614 There are over 30000 people in Airdrie alone, and only 15000 people made it out to vote. Fingers crossed that Rob Anderson does what he says he wants to do here. Fingers crossed that Ed Stelmach does for this province what he promised to do. Getting rid of Health Care Premiums, lowering income tax, more money for the arts, for schools and building more hospitals and providing the means to staff those hospitals. Harsher penalties for criminals. |

This post is from from my other blog here Today is the provincial election. The Tories are running for an 11 th consecutive term, with the Liberals looking to at least create a minority Conservative gov't. The NDP will be happy with a few more seats and the WildRose and Green Parties are happy with any recognition that they receive. I was impressed with the amount of voters I saw entering and leaving our polling station within the whole 5 minutes that it took me to vote, if that pace had kept up all day, I think that there may be a much better turnout this year than during the last election. If I was to judge the election outcome based on the number of lawn signs - I would say that it'd be a landslide Conservative win, with the WildRose Party placing a distant, yet established 2 nd place. Liberal, NDP and understandably, the Green Parties are not even placing in this contest. Liberal - has some great platform ideas, but doesn't seem to have the pull within this province - mostly due to the blunderous Federal run that the Liberals had, NDP - come on, who the heck even takes them seriously, and the Green Party better not have any lawn signs - they are supposed to be Green after all! I was really torn about getting a lawn sign. I wasn't really sure what the repercussions would be of having a sign. I am not outwardly political and wouldn't be very comfortable having any type of discussion that may arise from having a lawn sign, positive or negative. I enjoy following politics, embrace the frustration that comes from government - at all levels, and can participate in a political conversation to a relatively competent level. Politicians are a special breed of person - or a groomed person at the least. I think that having full confidence in one person, or a group of people who seem to believe in the same things that you do, is almost impossible. For one, in general, politicians make more money than "we" do. Do they really earn it, do they really deserve it? I'm not sure. I guess if they are providing my area with the roads, schools and other necessary things, yes. If they are not representing the area properly, no. For two, perspective plays a huge role. A new person will have no experience in dealing with their adversaries or with lobbyists, or with their own counterparts. But having a person who is similar in age and similar in needs to you - it makes you really relate to that person. It was my right to vote and I exercised that right. Did you? |
