This post is from from my other blog here So I had a doctor's appt today for the monthly preggo check. Blood pressure is fine 120/70, heart beat is great, 150 b/p/m, belly measuring at 30 weeks (even though I am only 28 weeks and 3 days along). Which brings me to my next bit of info, like usual, the docs have decided that they cannot stick to a due date. It has changed a few times since we found out I was pregnant. First it was April 13th, then the 15th, then the 21st, and now it is the 18th. So take notice out there - I AM NOW DUE ON THE 18th of APRIL!!!! Jake is convinced this baby is a sister for him, Keith figures since he guessed that the first two were boys and he guessed them right, that he KNOWS this one is a boy too. I honestly couldn't say. I don't have an inkling one way or the other, and really when it comes down to it... it just doesn't matter! I tried to get Jacob into soccer for this season. Soccer because he was too young to play hockey last year, and to young to play lacrosse this year. The cut-off date for the Under 6 program is to be 4 on or before Dec. 31. So because Jake turned 4 on Jan 1, he doesn't qualify to play until NEXT year when he'll be 5. Same with school - he can't go to kindergarden this year because the cut-off is again Dec 31. He will be the oldest kid in every class, and level of sport that he plays. Maybe that's a good thing? We just don't know yet. I do know that he cannot play, or go to school with his friends, who ALL have b-days before Dec 31. He will make some great new friends in his own grade and level, that is always a good thing. |

This post is from from my other blog here After some wobbly first steps, independant standing and tons of furniture surfing, Kolby has officially entered the world of two-legged mobilty! And boy has he taken to it. At first it was small steps inbetween two objects that were close to each other, now he's off and running down the hallway, around the other kids and basically going everywhere he can. There are still some balance issues, and he's not really that great at navigating over items - he just plows through a pile until either he falls over, or the pile moves! Unfortunately, I cannot post video here! Look in your in-boxes for some little clips of my mover and shaker!!! |

This post is from from my other blog here Here are some pictures of the bedroom area that is going to change the most! The first picture was taken about 1 month after we moved in, in Dec/03. The second was the following May/04. The tv needs to go! The dresser is already gone, as is the corner shelf. Where the dresser was, is where I would like the fireplace to go. The curtains and the rod are gone already. Eventually the carpet will be replaced will the same Cherry hardwood that is throughout the rest of the house. I would like to get wool area rugs to give the floor the texture that I'm looking for. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them. Keith and I are torn about the blue wall. I really like it, and am comfortable and drawn to blues, but I'm not sure how it'll work with the red hues of the cherry floor, the creams of the draperies and trims and the "antiqued" (more of a chocolate/espresso hue than anything) finish of the furniture that will be coming into the room. The colour of the linens hasn't been decided on (except the drapes), so they can always be chosen to accomodate the final look after... I'd love to see the before/after pics of any rooms that you have done. |

This post is from from my other blog here This January has been very confusing. It snowed, barely, last night. It is only -4 and tomorrow is supposed to be +6. We had some super-duper cold last week, for like 1 1/2 days. Where is winter? If it doesn't come when it is supposed to, then I don't want it to come at all. I don't want to be in the middle of March or April, and experiencing the cold and ick that should be here right now! Keith and I have started to change our bedroom. We've created an area closest to the deck doors that will be a sitting area. Eventually I'd like to see a fireplace, a classic chair and a great little table there. We've changed the closet into a "dressing room" - the dressers got moved into the closet - hehe. If I add a mirror and a seat it'd be complete! The side tables are going to have a very classic, old english style, and that will match the headboard and the shelf that Keith has already built. I need to finish the curtains and find a coordinating pattern to match the new headboard. Eventually I'd like to see some really nice sheets on the bed, with coordinating and accent pillows, shams, throws, etc. I guess the overall look I'm going for is "CLASSIC". Not country, or modern, or traditional. Very thick in texture and very comfortable, but not "over-stuffed" or "fluffy". Hard to explain I guess... I'll try to post pics as we go - be patient, it'll be quite the time before it is done. |

I have a unique opportunity for a SAHM or a student of ECE. I need to find a replacement for myself while I take some time off to have my third child.
I run a dayhome in AIRDRIE AB and would like to take April 13 to at least June 30 off. Position would start April 2.

This post is from from my other blog here Kolby has made some huge strides since Christmas - literally! He has taken steps on his own. He is showing so much confidence and balance, I can see that he is getting ready to make his way around the world on 2 legs! He has also made the connection to me as Mom-mom-mom. He would babble before, but now he has actually made the association to me as mom and Keith as dad. There are now four teeth present - ooohhh "All the more to bite you with, my dear!" Kolby has moved on from baby food completely, except for formula of course, because he really does want to chew everything! If it ain't got no lumps - he sure as heck don't wan' it!!!!! This is a totally different experience for me compared to when Jake was this age. By the time he was 10 months old he had already been walking for a month, and he sure as heck didn't say a word! In fact Jake hardly said anything at all until he was two. Then he basically said every word he had heard for the first two years of his life! As exciting as it is for my little ones to be doing new things, it is a little sad too. I really am aware at how fast they grow and I wouldn't mind seeing them stay little for longer. Of course that being said, I am glad that it looks like Kolby will be independantly mobile before this new baby makes his/her appearance! Speaking of new baby... everything seems to be going well. The doctor hasn't changed the due date....yet!!!! I still haven't seen the ob/gyn, but I suspect that'll happen between the next two visits. I am having wicked dreams, even more wicked heartburn and have developed an eye-twitch that I am writing off to lack of sleep. There is a ton of movement, mostly just a pleasant reminder that Baby is in there, but some rather uncomfortable "nudges" have also been felt. Swimming and sports-of-all-sorts starts this weekend for Jacob. He's looking forward to it a lot. I've also enrolled him into an Easter "Egg-stravaganza" thing that should be tons o' fun too! |

This post is from from my other blog here January 1, 2007 marked Jake's 4th birthday! He was delighted to open up more presents! He was given a flat screen lite-bright, a Pooh Bear puzzle, a cardigan sweater, mega amounts of lego, a spiderman lunch box and a bunk bed. I'm feeling as though I'm forgetting something..... Jake also got phone calls from some of the very special family members! He wouldn't even let us answer the phone most of the time, he was there and saying hello before I could get to it. It was funny too, cause he would say "Happy Birthday to you too", when someone would wish him a Happy Birthday! We will be having his party, as usual, on Canada Day, so his friends can come. He gets presents and well wishes from the family on his B-day, and then the party at his 1/2 birthday. Here are some pics of him enjoying his marshmallow icing, confetti cake. |
