Hope everyone is having a better day than me!
About twenty minutes into cooking dinner last night, ( or Supper, as Marg would say ) , I went to remove a stove cover from a hot plate not in use, not realising that the hot plate underneath was on. Stupid I know, I am usually so watchful of making sure the hotplates I'm not using are switched off.
Being black enamel, three of my finger tips just stuck....it was straight under the cold water, then on with a ice brick. Over many years of receiving burns, the treatment is cold water, an ice brick, then this remarkable burn dressing gel from Johnson & Johnson...the burns settle down within 1/2 hour.
Not this time ! Three hours later my fingers still had the sensation of burning not throbbing, burning....with some TLC from Steve he dressed my fingers very gently, plus a couple of panadaine forte, I sat with tears in my eyes for the burning sensation to subside. It was about 5am this morning that it did....don't think they would get finger prints off me today hee hee!.
i have'nt taken the dressings off yet, as i imagine my fingers will be badly blistered, so am doing everything with one hand, I have experienced many burns but this one was a doosey!!!!!
This was a reality check also, for Mum's to be alert with young ones near stoves.
Take care Everyone.
Much Love
