Hi.. I am a grandmother, who having raised my own family, am now in the process of raising the joy of my life.. my now 7 year old grandson, Jamie... one of the most incredibly beautiful children I have ever met.. yes, I AM biased, but with very good reason. This child is the way EVERY child should be!! I guarantee there would be a world full of perfect parents if all children were like him! lol.
I have 1 step-daughter, 4 sons and 1 daughter, all of whom have grown and left home. So there is just my husband and Jamie and myself here, along with one psychotic cat.. who thinks he is Jamie's big brother or something! My husband is 67 years old and still working full time as a plant operater in the local coal mine.. I wish I had his energy and stamina.. guess they breed em tough in the Territory! My children are scattered all over the eastern side of Australia, with my step-daughter somewhere between Adelaide and Alice Springs!
I am a stay at home mother, because I am able to make that choice, unlike a lot of mums.. and I feel that that is where all mums should be if only life were perfect!!..but it ain't! unfortunately. If I were to go to work.. I'd have to go for rocket science, or maybe nuclear physasist...or even maybe a spelling type person!! lololol In my former life before husband and children, I was a nurse.. maybe that is why I was able to handle life in a dysfunctional house so well all these years. Of my children, 2 are ADHD.. 1 severe, whilst my lovely daughter had developement problems and is considered 'slow', although she has amazed us all, by getting her life in order and ...

I will eventually learn about this site and be an expert in no time!
Today is hot here, summer has definitely arrived with a vengence and no rain in sight! It is so hot and dry it is not funny. Jamie has decided not to go play in his pool because it is too hot, even though the pool is under cover...even the 'cold' water from the tap is scalding in the hottest part of the day, so not pleasant!
Jamie won his class's overall achievement award this year, and yesterday the prize turned up in the mail.. it is a $30 book voucher along with a lovely certificate.. so another award to add to his little book! Now I just have to work out how to occupy him plus get my work done over the next 6 weeks! Luckily he is an easy child to entertain. But if any of you have ideas for a child in the middle of nowhere to be entertained, I'd appreciate it!.. we have no access to beach, shopping malls, movie theatres or the like out here in the bush.. so any ideas.. very welcomed, thank you. |
