Hi everyone, I am a 44 yr old single mum with 3 teenage daughters, Tara, 20, Kristie, 17 and Natalie, 15. The girls dad and I remain good friends and just live around the corner from each other. I live in a lovely little place called Bundeena which is right on the coast in NSW Australia. We have 3 pets; 2 cats, Gypsy and Lilly and a dog Jamie. |

Hi everyone,
Well I had my op a couple of days ago and things are ok, I even managed to go to college yesterday. Finding it a bit hard to type though, bit slower than normal. I keep forgetting that i can't use it too much. I've been lucky it hasn't been all that painful until I try to put any pressure on it by lifting or holding something. I had my other arm done 16 years ago, this one is much less painful. |

Hi everyone,
As the title says, I feel really slack. I haven't been on minti for such a long time but I didn't realize just how long until I looked at my inbox and had some very old emails. To those people goes a VERY BIG apology for not replying before this. I have been studying and have also had an ankle operation. My 16 yr old daughter ran away again, with her 21 yr old boyfriend and I am just about to on in and have another operation on Monday for carpel tunnel.
This semester I have been studying Introduction to the New Testament. It has been wonderful I have learnt so much. I just received back my first assignment for this module and got a High Distinction. I was so excited. It's the first time I have ever received such a high mark. Then my lecturer asked me if he could have a copy as he wanted to put it on his site where he puts all his articles for students to read. I was absolutely stunned. I have only been studying at diploma level but he thinks I should go up to degree level. YAHOO.

Hi everyone. As the heading says the most amazing thing has happened. I talked in an earlier blog about my daughter Tara coming home to live and how we'd never really got on etc. She has now moved home but before she moved in she came to me and said that God had revealed to her that she needed to work on our relationship. HALLELUJIAH! So we sat down and talked for a couple of hours about stuff. How she felt, what was going on in her life, why things happened etc, etc. It was a big learning curve for me to. Tara is my first born so I think sometimes we make it up as we go along. But I learnt a lot from what she said to me the other day. So far I have managed to take some of it on board. The wonderful thing is I think she has been home for about a month now and we have only had one small argument which we were able to sort out pretty well straight away, whereas before we were arguing several times a day and even after she moved out when she visited we still argued. So the result is that whereas before I was not looking forward to her coming home now I am so glad she is home and we have some really great converstions together and we go for coffee together and are able to have lots of mother daughter time.
I wanted to put a photo of her in. This is the only recent one I could find as she hates having her photo taken. Even this is a couple of years old.

I had forgotton how supportive minti mates are. I haven't been on minti for ages because I've been so busy with kids, stuff I do for my church and with the course I'm doing at college. I'm making a mosaic. I've never made one before so it's taking extra long. i came on earlier today with a problem and within about 30 mins I had 3 replies which really helped and I realised how much I had missed coming on and talking to people, reading articles, advice etc.
So thanks minti mates for reminding me about the value of friendship.
