Hi all

Well as my opener states..we may be signing up for government assistance in the near future..

My hubby found out yesterday that he will no longer have a job as of the end of march due to the closure of mitsubishi here in adelaide. Although he actually works for an out sourced company within the plant, he will still be made redundant along with 1000 other people. Anyone living in Adelaide would already know that the company's closure has been a long time coming but it is still a big shock as to how quick it will all be happening. Alot of the workers have been there most of their working life and know nothing else..

Ryan is optimistic, he is not worried at all. He is really confident that he will find work and tells me not to stress. I guess we should be thankful that I work on the weekends so at least we will have some small income coming in. Worst case senario will be that he will have to get governmnet assistance but we really dont want to do that unless we have no ther choice. I know there is nothing wrong with that but there is a certain stigma associated with living on the dole. People look down upon those needing it and think they are all bludgers which is not always the case..certainly not in our case.

Well I guess that luxury holiday I planned one day will be pushed further into the distance...

Thats my dribble for tonight..have a good one!

I can understand the part where you say people look down on you.

My wife has no choice about recieving benifits as she would not be able to work regular hours because of he disability.

But I do have a choice, my choice is to look after my family 1st and I have always told my wife that health comes 1st. Lets face it, without it there is nothing else. So I gave up work and studying to become an Architect to become a primary carer.

So now when someone looks down on us we don't care because we are proud of each other and our family.

No matter what happens though you still need to pay bills...

There are many people on the "Dole" that needn't be and that is where the problem begins.

Your need is genuine but I hope your Hubby is able to find something quickly.

Otherwise it may be an opportunity for your Hubby to recharge his batteries.

Heck it's rough trot, though I really like your hubby's attitude, and I sure you will be positive and supportive for him.

Think if it as a life changing experience that is giving you a little push outside your comfort zone to discover new opportunities.

It is a chance for your husband to renew is vigor for the future and think about other things that he would like to do for a living.

You are so right, whenever we are faced with what would appear to be a negative time in our lives we should grab a hold with both hands and turn it into a positive.

My thoughts are with Jo, nothing good about hearing that your going to lose your job.... ir gives you that feeling of being in limbo. I know it's also hard not to worry but i'm sure as Ryan said something will come up for him. Keep your chin up i believe when one door shuts another door will open.

Hi Janice, Thank you for your thoughts and well wishes. I have always been a believer in "things happen for a reason" so I guess this really applies in these kind of situations hey. Lets just hope that the new door thats gonna open is a great big fat golden door lol!

Hiya cazza, He will be finding out more regarding the whole situation on monday with definate dates etc. I just hate the not knowing where we are headed bit but hey, there are plenty of others going thru the same bull. Hi Jo, so sorry to hear about hubby's job - I saw on the news that the factory was closing but didn't realise Ryan worked there. Hopefully he finds something else by the end of March & you don't have to worry about signing up for the dole, and if you do I'm sure it won't be for long! I am thinking of you hunni & you know I'm here if you want to chat. Sorry I had to take off last night but I had to get to bed as I was exhausted, LOL!
