Well my son spent the day at Grandma's. I went to pick him up and I swear it took me all of seven minutes to get him ready to leave. Oh he was having fun before I got there, I know because I watched him play through the window for about 10 minutes.. But once he saw me that was it.
I walked in said hi to grandma and she went up stairs to get his porta-cot.. I started packing up his toys and for the first time ever with out asking he actually started to help. In fact I was so amazed I just stopped to watch and with in seconds all his toys were where they needed to be. Then to my amazement he went to the door got his boots and put them on. And they were on the correct feet. Then he found his coat and gave it to me. I picked it up by the hood and he slipped his arms in turned and looked at me grabbed the corner of his coat and shoved the zipper end in my hands... I did up his Jacket and he starts yelling GOODBYE....
Grandma comes down the stairs she looked at me and said wow you dressed him quick.. I had to explain to her that I was ready to sit and chat for a bit before we left it was Francis who got ready to go all by himself.. So we say our goodbye and I open the door to the house out down the stairs he goes, stands by the car door. I open it and he climbs up in to the truck all by himself and props himself in his car seat waiting for me to do the belt up....
I laughed all the way home.. I mean to get him ready to go anywhere can take up to 1/2 just to get his shoes and jacket on.. Yet tonight he did it all by himself in seven minutes, maybe 8.. LOL and he is almost two...
I was actually rather proud... |
