We are expecting 25cm of snow tomorrow.. Starting at 8am....  Oh yeah..

I took the dog out for a walk at 10pm tonight and the road was just ice. It was a lovely walk though, not to cold... - something -9 I think...   No wind, I think because it all came the day before...

Not looking forward to tomorrow because all that Ice will be covered under snow.. AHHHHHHHH

MintiLove

by JessgoreComment Published at 19:3519:357 comments7 comments21 Visits21 VisitsReport

What is it I love about minti???  That it is the only website that makes me come back... :) The fact that I have a regular blog, and it is the only one I keep remembering to come and visit...

Why is that????

Because I love the friends that I have found here, I love helping and being helped when possible and when needed.  It is a place where I can go and have adult conversation (For the most part), and can also goof off just a little as well.

The friends I have made, I have been on here long enough to feel as if I know them.  This place also lets me know that I am not the only one who's child has bitten has bitten nipples, thrown tantrums, thrown carrots and all the other stuff that goes with raising children... I AM NOT ALONE IN THIS WORLD OF PARENTING.

And as I do not have my own mother, or sister just around the corner, I can sound off in here and people read, leave comments..

In the end I just love it, hence the reason I keep coming back...

MY god, how do people do it????

I had four 12 year olds over this weekend for a sleep over.  There were suposed to be four but the boy pulled out, which I am not more then greatful for....  Because my friend came over with her two boys and well lets just say that we have vents and when you speak to close to them you can be heard, and they were playing truth and dare... Thankfully these boys were not sleeping over.    And I also found out that the little boy that was supposed to come and stay and we were told he was just friends, turns out Camille has a crush on him...  Gotta love friends that tease sometimes, they give you the best infomation with out even trying, or realizing.

Needless to say they drove me crazy... And I ask is it normal that the girls would all shower together????? Only person who did not was Camille..  Camille had to go to the store to pick up her birthday present so while she did that the girls had showers and got dressed... I said we have two showers so don't be scared to use them.. One of the girls said no it's ok I have my swim suit we'll shower together..  "I went no need here we have two showers and well it is ok to use them.  She said saving on water.. Now this I may understand if you are living at my mothers who has to pay to ship water to her house just so that she can flush the toilet.   Anyway I did not see them come out of the bathroom with any swim suits...  My question is, did any of you girls do that. I mean Pat and I can't even fit in the shower up stairs togetherm, and some how they managed to fit three.  There was a lot of sqeeling going on and a couple of don't do thats. But I don't know I just sat on the sofa wondering is that normal.

Of course my son was in awe of the girls, and when they went to another room he kept asking where his girls were.   The dog kept humping a couple of legs. (Can't wait to get him fixed) Francis kept waking up early. This morning was at 4.45 am and refused to go back to bed. Grrrrrrrrr

Anyway that is where I am heading. My poor husband has taken the girls to the cinema to watch a movie, and Francis has crashed in his room and I am about to do the same in mine.

Husband and I have made a vow that we are never going to have four 12 year olds in the house at the same time again.. .:)   Also one of the little girls does not seem to eat, I say little because she is tiny.

Oh before I go there is one thing that really pissed me off.. I am cooking breakfast for them all, and I mean a big breakfast, eggs, toast, bagels, pancakes, bacon.  Then I hear, Caca maman Caca. So I asked who did the caca (Being that we have a puppy in the house it could have been him or Francis. ) It was the puppy. So I said Camille would you mind cleaning that up for me please... She actually said NO...  I said excuse me, please would you mind I am cooking breakfast for you and your friends (I was cooking for seven and getting it all out at the same time is a task, good thing I was  a breakfast chef in a life before Francis), anyway she said no again. I asked her if she wanted to eat, and she said she'd cook... I got even more pissed when her friend came to offer, don't get me wrong it was nice of her friend , but her friend is a guest.   So I took the paper myself and I said thanks anyway, but I had asked Camille to do it, I cleaned it up washed my hands and went back to cooking their breakfast...

Papa saw that I was fuming because here I was doing this for Camille and her friends and she could not do that little thing for me.  (ok no the most pleasent of things to do but hey I have only ever asked her once since I have had the dog).  Papa had a little talk with her yesterday, and today while doing breakfast I hear caca caca, and with out saying a word Camille went to clean it. So what ever her dad said must have worked....

That is all I have to say, time to nap... xxxx

3 month old puppy two year old kid...

by JessgoreComment Published at 20:0620:062 comments2 comments52 Visits52 VisitsReport

OH MY what was I thinking when I said yes I'd love a puppy...  What was my husband thinking when the lady says he does not bark but he will cry?  I was thinking oh yes I'd love a puppy I miss my Jack so much, but I miss having a dog just as much.  Hubby was thinking.. Oh my wife will love this puppy she always said she'd love to have a  Beagle, and well the crying will stop eventually....  We were both crazy...

In fact we love this little puppy, so cute and nippy... But my god, with Francis.. It is as if I have two, two year olds, that don't listen... At least the puppy will sit on comand.

Murray (the puppy) was awake at 6.30am today because he caught me walking out of Francis's room as I had been in there to quieten him down after a bad dream, and thankfully was able to get him back to bed (which usually at that time of the morning is almost impossible). So I thought to myself yeah a few more minutes maybe even an hour sleep.. But no the dog busted me coming out and started crying and woke the hubby who started swearing, so up I get to shut the dog up.. I thought no worries take dog for pee, give him food, wow still have time for a shower.. Take the dog to the bathroom.....

Heres where it gets interesting. He was fine right up until I closed the shower doors...  He started howling because he could not see me. I mean I was right there talking to him.. So to shut him up I had to open the shower doors and of course the floor got wet... So he was slipping every where (which was actually a little amusing). But my shower was cut short because of all the water getting on to the floor, and him wanting in the shower with me... Grrrr, then just as I turn off the shower Francis wakes up, so I don't even have time to get dressed...

Gotta love the mornings...

five 12 year olds and one is a boy......

by JessgoreComment Published at 07:1407:148 comments8 comments27 Visits27 VisitsReport

Oh my what a weekend I have to look forward too.

My step daughter turned 12 last weekend and guess where she is having the sleep over????? Yep here...

She has invited four friends, and one is a boy. I have no problems with sleep overs, I think every one should have them from time to time, but not so sure about the boy... Ok I may sound a little prudeish but what they hey. But her daddy says it is fine, so I am ok with it. I think...

You see, while I don't think it would be fair to seperate the boy from the girls when it comes to bed time, there is only enough space to sleep them all in the base ment. Oh what fun this will be. I was 12 once, yes it is true, did I have boys come and stay over???? NO, why not, other then the fact that they were not really interested in me my parents would have seperated us. The first time I had guys stay over at my house was the first time we were all going to vote. It was rather fun, but we were seperated. Mind you I don't know what mum would have thought we would have gotten up to. Like I said boys were not really interested in me, and found me to be a GOOD FRIEND... Always the friend..

Anyway hubby wants me to put the baby monitor in the basement where they can't see it. He says I know it is not nice and it is spying but what else can we do? Sure we could try trusting her, her mother does, but the problem is, her mum at one stage had a new boyfriend every other week and Cam got to meet them all... So well I guess unspoken we both worry that Cam may have seen that as being the way it works. As every other week she changes her MSN log in to the name of the boy she loves that week.

Anyway all crap aside, we are just going to go with the flow. With any luck Hubby will look scary enough to stop anyone from trying anything... :)

Also you know I was thinking something strange. As the years go by we find out that sometimes out kids know more then us. I am sure Camille knows more about sex then I did when I was 12. I am also sure I know where she is learning it from (But that is another story, I just hope the facts that she has are correct and if she does need to know anything she will come to us, what we don't know we'll google it. LOL) What got me thinking all this was my mother rang me up a few months back and was telling me that a very close dear relative has caught Hep C. And a few weeks after that she rang me up very upset and explained to me how this person got it. Then she said "you don't sound surprised. As he caught it injecting drugs. I explained that I knew the ways of getting it. And my mother who had no idea how you could get it, she just thought sex was the way and she was just devistated that this person would have even used drugs in the first place. But it just goes to show they do teach a little more stuff to kids as the years go on. I guess they either did not know that when my mum was going to school, or that they were trying to sheild the kids from it. Just thought it was weird that I knew that and my mother did not. I am thinking that maybe parents should have a refresher course on sex, drugs or what ever is new out there, just so that if they don't get taught these things in school we as parents know what to either look out for or are able to answer questions on new things that were either not around or discussed when we were kids....

Just a thought... :)

Wish me luck for the weekend.

Letting the dog out...

by JessgoreComment Published at 19:0619:067 comments7 comments16 Visits16 VisitsReport

I woke up this morning to Francis letting the dog out of his cage. I was sure I took every possible climbing thing that he could get his feet on to get up over the gate. Turns out I did take them all but he managed to get over it this time with out it...  He called me, I got up walked to his door, only to hear "salut maman" coming from next to the dogs bed. Which is of course not near his bedroom.   Hmmmmm I will probably have to set the alarm so that I wake up before him from now on.. But the question is to what time do I set it??? He wakes at any time between 6-7am and on occasions 5.30am. Grrrrr this is not going to be fun..

But on the other hand, I have been getting to bed early (except weekends) but I am not drinking as much coffee and have found the less coffee I drink the more awake I am. As long as I have one around 10am I am good.  But none after lunch unless I have been out for dinner..  I used to drink tons of coffee, part of my favorite pass time was a cup of coffee once Francis had gone to bed (the only real time I get to enjoy it), anyway it seems that my intake of coffee is what was making me horribly sleepy in the morning to the point of actually falling asleep a few times while Francis was awake... So no more coffee after lunch unless out for dinner.. That is a new after new years resolution.

So anyone who feels overly tired and drinks lots of coffee, try cutting it down.. It seriously worked for me... And more water too... :)

Anyway I am off to look around for a bit, then off to bed because I need to get up before the little fellow tomorrow...

Until next time xxxx

My kid escaped....

by JessgoreComment Published at 19:4619:465 comments5 comments24 Visits24 VisitsReport

I could not believe it, down to nap for the afternoon only to be woken by Francis, whom should have been safetly behind bars in his bedroom.. (We have a child gate across his door)... But no he was in our room, what was he doing there????? He had moved his rather (what I thought heavy) toybox and pushed it up against the gate and climbed over the top... So this evening I removed it.

Then bed time came and out again he got. How this time??? He got his little box (and I mean little box) that I keep his baby wipes in and stood on that to get a leg up over the gate... Then I took that away, put him back to bed, and out he got again. This time using a stuff dog which is twice as big as he is, he dragged it across and stood on that and out he jumped. Finally he is asleep. But I'll be having to get up extra early tomorrow to make sure I don't find any surprises because he knows how to let the dog out of his cage the last thing I want to find is caca on the floor...

Anyway best be off.. If you see spelling mistakes it is because for some reason my little red line under the miss spelled words is not working. Bahumbug...

Have a nice day..

Who popped in to wish me a happy birthday... You know what is as exciting as getting a new puppy the night before your birthday?????

Finding diamonds in the fridge.. My mother checked her fridge and said it was broken... LOL  I went to get milk for my coffee this morning and there was a pair of earrings in the fridge for me... Talk about spoiled.. And I also got some of my favorite perfume and a body gel made from the same scent. I had a friend who just came back from Paris and she brought me back some.. I got my hair done again and well I just feel like a very spoiled woman today.

We also went out to dinner tonight, and although it was my birthday there were five of us who had birthdays this month so I made them celebrate theirs as well...  It was fun...

I would just like to say,  The mighty Murry did not cry last night when put to bed, so yippeee, although last night I did get to sleep late.... Opps.. It is 12.30am now so I am off to bed.. It is the weekend so I am allowing myself a little late night sleep.. But tomorrow back to early... :)
Night all and thanks again for the birthday wishes...

My birthday present Murry....

by JessgoreComment Published at 20:3520:3513 comments13 comments83 Visits83 VisitsReport
Yep my birthday present has a name, his name is Murry and he is just adorable... Lets hope he does not go missing, because I don't think I could take losing another dog...... Yep a dog...  I get a phone call from the hubby asking me if I want a dog, thinking he had found a stray. Of course I said yes, I then asked if he'd found it he said "No it was going to be a surprise but being as you will be looking after it I better ask you first."   He found me a Beagle.  Yep a beagle, he is soooooooooo cute.....   Hubby asked the lady at the store what was a Beagles temperament like and she asked if we had dogs before. He said our last one was a Jack Russell and she said, "well if you survived that you'll survive this, so I think I am in for some fun times...   Mind you he was here only five minutes and he shat on the floor.... But in saying that, when I put the puppy toilet training mat on the floor he peed on that then took another dump on it.... So he is toilet trained, and I only have to teach him now to do it outside.. Yipppeeee...
Also being that I am in the basement I have had to put him in his cage, he is not crying at all.. So this is a good start.. I have to go out and buy him a leash because he is to small for Jacks old one and I don't think I can find it.   When hubby had told the lady at the store that Jack had gone missing, she said to be honest once he was gone you would have a hard time getting him back, because Jacks are extremely popular and they get stolen often....

Oh and my boss gave me a chocolate fondu set... Hubby said the kids brought me the dog, because he'd already brought my present. I believe that it is coming from a friend who just visited paris.. So maybe some whiskey through duty free.. Hmmm who knows either way I know I have been a spoiled girl and my birthday is not even until tomorrow here at least anyway....

Thank you to every one who has visited my lounge and wished me a happy birthday, sorry if I don't get back to you personally I will try... I can see me being very busy over the next few days reteaching Francis how to be careful all over again with Murry...  And wow you should have seen him tonight talk about excited.. He was amazing....

Thank youxxxxxxxx

Need to ask...

by JessgoreComment Published at 09:4709:473 comments3 comments23 Visits23 VisitsReport
Marg did you send the wind???? 90km, I mean really you shouldn't have.. And the freezing rain today did you send that too.. :)

All jokes aside, we only just replaced our BBQ last year because the winds blew it over, and just this year it happens again.. Thankfully this one is made totally of steel so we still have the handle...   We had to go out every now and then to push it back into place.  And today is the freezing rain, I am so glad that I went out early before it had time to settle on the hubby's car... He will of course need to chip it off later but he has that fantastic button on his key ring that starts the car from inside the house.. I think I will be begging him to buy that with my next car, which I am hoping to get in the not to distant future, here even a car that is about 8 years old is an old car...   But it has been a great little civic, in all of the 8 years that we have had it, it is only starting to fall apart now.. Time to sell it to someone... :)

Francis has been going to bed later because I have been keeping him up, I figure if he does not fall asleep until 10pm then why not keep him up later, so I do, not until 10 mind you that is just way to late, but with out the bottle he is starting to fall asleep a little quicker, and eat a little more, of course he still refuses to eat meat but hey at least he is eating something..

I received a poster sized photo yesterday of myself sitting on my dads police bike when I was about 20. It had been hanging on the wall at mums ever since I moved, one day they said they would send it to me only to tell me it was to hard to take out of the frame.  So I don't know what happened but one day it just fell out so they sent it to me, it is now currently at the framers, to get re-framed.  And this year we will take a photo of hubby on his bike to blow up and make them a pair. It is already a pair but my sister has the other one of her on the Harley and she won't part with it...

Getting my hair done (touch up on the roots) again tomorrow.. It is rather amusing because I told the hubby I was going to get it done, and he said why I said look the gray is starting to show and there are roots... He must be blind because he shrugged his shoulders in that "Don't know what your talking about" way that men do.

Well it is time to attack the basement again...

Oh and just to let you know with me keeping to the getting more sleep resolution, and putting to Francis to bed later, it makes for less time on the computer, which in a way is a very good thing, my wrists are feeling much better, they don't seem to hurt as much as they did before... :)  Bloody RSI, I used to get it when I was a meat wrapper for safeway all them years ago...

So for now bye and catch you all on the flip sidexxxx

Hi Every one...

I have been in and out lately but not doing much, I have been keeping up with the new years resolution of getting more sleep and wow it is amazing, I have even cut down on the coffee....   I am so awake in the morning that it is fantastic.  Although it is a little harder to fall asleep at my alloted time, I was saying 10pm, but I have found as long as I am in bed by midnight it is good.   So far I have been going to bed around 11pm.  Spend some time with the hubby before I actually go to bed which is also nice.

It was his birthday yesterday so we had a  friend over for dinner and I could not keep my eyes open in the end I had to say good night. Francis was up at 6.00am wanting milk but I gave him some cereal and he was happy with that.

We have taken him off the bottle now and replaced it with a  sippy cup, now he refuses milk from the sippy cup and will only take water before bed, he'd take juice if I let him but he will settle for water, even then he does not really drink it so that is a good thing just before bed.
Now we are just waiting for the hospital to call and give us a call to take his tonsils out. Looking forward to that because his  snoring is really bad...

Anyway that is it from here, not much else exciting is happening..

It is the year 2008.....

by JessgoreComment Published at 10:3010:303 comments3 comments52 Visits52 VisitsReport
It is 22 minutes past 1pm, and I am still in my Pj's.. Hell why not it is a public holiday and what better way to bring in the new year then in my Pj's.. That just means I am comfortable...

I have a few New Years resolutions and I am just trying to figure out how to go about them.. They seem like work but this year I really should get around to doing them...   I have to the tarot card reading lady told me it is going to be a good year for us, so that means every one around me is going to have a good year too.. Well at least that is how I see it because last year the people around me had issues and I was always thinking about them. So if they have a good year then I'll be thinking happy thoughts instead of all the bad ones..  Heres hoping she is right...

Francis is good, Camille is good, Hubby is good.  So other then Francis not sleeping at this point in time while he is supposed to be taking his afternoon nap, the year 2008 is taking off rather well... :)
Nothing special happened last night, we had a friend over and watched some Quebec show to bring in the new year.. Mind you I could not understand it because it was all jokes and they were talking to fast for me, but still the others were laughing so it must have been good... Counted in the new year then realized that Francis was going to wake up early and decided to hit the sack due to the fact that because I have been lazy I have been falling asleep while Francis is awake, or at least in walking zombie status... ONe of my resolutions is to get more sleep this year.... Anyway being a walking Zombie is not safe for Francis or us for that matter so more sleep here I come...

It is snowing again, which is just what we need. But I no longer have my car which is great in the respect now when our drive way gets cleared of the snow my car will no longer be in the way of the guy clearing the whole driveway...

Ok well that is about it for the new year..  And being that I said I am going to get more sleep this year that means that I may be spending less time on here... Sorry to all of those that I MSN with but I really do need the sleep...
I have a feeling that this resolution will be easily broken, but hey most of them are... :)

Love to all and wishes good luck and all that good stuff for the year 2008....
Love Jess xxxxx
