Almost back in the land of the living....

by JessgoreComment Published at 18:3218:324 comments4 comments14 Visits14 VisitsReport

I think my hubby said it best..... You have a mans sinusitis.  Because I felt like I was going to die, ok not die, but I complained a lot and felt very much like how the hubby sounds when he has the common cold... :)

I have antibiotics now and with any luck should be feeling tip top in no time.. Although my throat is swollen from all the coughing and I feel like I have a bone stuck in it, my eyes are not leaking as much and I can don't have a headache.. :)

I think that is enough details... :)

While my hubby has been so sweet looking after Francis over the weekend with out asking me to help with anything, and he came home early Monday night, and took Tuesday off so I could finally get myself to the clinic with out having to drag along Francis, the house is an absolute pig sty that I would not even invite my closest of friends to visit..  I have my work cut out for me. I just hope I am going to be good enough tomorrow to be able to do it. I have hardly any energy...  But hey I am mum and I proved this weekend that mothers can, do and will get sick from time to time.  And let me tell you it sucks....  Because now my house is looking sick, there is a week of washing to do.. AHHHHH I wish the hubby could have helped out there a little too, but he is not much of a multitasking  when it comes to looking after the kids...

Anyway hope every one else is doing well...  Can't wait.. Only two more weeks until I go and meet Janice and Steve in Toronto then head up to Marg's....  I am told it is only a 6 hour drive to Toronto, but 8 hours all up...  Hubby says it is a boring drive... But I have a feeling I am going to enjoy the freedom of being alone with out the kids, to play my music as loud as I want.. And just to enjoy the drive...

Not as bad as yesterday..

by JessgoreComment Published at 07:5207:527 comments7 comments13 Visits13 VisitsReport

Cam is looking after Francis for a few minutes while I come down to the basement to hide just long enough to take a cup of coffee...

After I blogged the other day I went to bed... And I got out of it this morning. I got up a couple of times during the day but only to walk as far as the bathroom.. WOW sinus pain is a killer.. I was dizzy and my ears were killing me...  hubby was so kind last night I had had nothing to eat for almost two days due to not being able to swallow with out my head feeling like it was going to explode.. So he made me chicken soup and brought it to bed I believe the time was 11.00pm  and let me tell you it was the best chicken soup ever.

Poor hubby had two days to walk in my shoes, and let me tell you it is now 10.48am and while I have been up since six, still a crook and stuffed nose, but at least the headache is not so bad, he is still sleeping...

I have never been this bad, my eyes were all yucky and I could not see straight, on top of it all it was that time of the month.. OH YEAH... I mean I was so sick I could not even get up to help hubby when Francis was calling out for me. I could here the frustration in my hubby's voice but I just could not move...

I must say he did a good job, other then the fact that I have a lot of cleaning to do today, which will have to wait until tomorrow because I am still not feeling that crash hot.  I think all I can muster up today is sitting with Francis playing cars.

I do feel bad for the hubby though, it was beautiful outside yesterday and the poor guy was so wanting to go for a motorbike ride, he has been waiting to get it out of the garage for sooooo long, and I ended up sick... Maybe he can take it out this afternoon.

Anyway thanks for all your messages the other day...

Will come back again later.. If not today tomorrow.. xxxxx

This is the hubby trying on some hats at the shop in Jamaica... He was not feeling to well this day, but my friend insisted that I take a photo... He is a little upset he did not shave for it though.. :) I won't tell him I made it public... Plus he was a little embarrassed because I had the camera out in the store... :)

And right behind him, hiding behind the door my other friend is trying on a dress... :)

ahhhh I scratched my car...

by JessgoreComment Published at 18:3518:354 comments4 comments13 Visits13 VisitsReport

Ok Here I was thinking my hubby would be fuming over the fact that I scratched my car... But no he was not.. He did get a shock though when I told him what on.. Then when he realized no damage was done to his precious motorbike it was ok...   It is only a very small scratch and we really had to look for it to point it out. So I am not to upset either.  I had to make it mine I guess and what better way to make a car mine then to scratch it...

It's  tight fit in the garage and with hubby's car just off to the right of the garage, I have to drive out in a bit of an angle, which is rather difficult, as I have to miss the steps on the left as well.. There is a bit of skill to be learned here I am sure I can do it... I must look funny to passersby though because I back out, drive in then back out again of the garage.. :) As any man would say, I look like a woman driver... Good thing I am..

Other then that we had a few tantrums with Francis, I brought some much needed light globes, and two 6 volt batteries for a jeep that has been handed down to Francis, it is 16 years old and still kicking. He was given it a couple of years ago as it was passed to his cousins from Camille, and now it is back in our possession.  We discovered that Francis can reach the peddles now and he just loved it.. Although he has only mastered right hand circles. :)

The weather was beautiful today just loved being outside, only down fall is it made me think of lots of way to spend money around the house... Gardens, and trees and such.. Because well we only have the one out the front and I'd like a little something in the back yard other then the swings and the cabino... Anyway I think I will wait for Francis to master the art of driving his jeep and training the dog not to dig holes before I start any garden projects..

Well that was my day.. :)

I just don't believe it..

by JessgoreComment Published at 19:4419:445 comments5 comments30 Visits30 VisitsReport

I think I got sun burnt today... AGAIN... :)  I got goggle lines again.. :) As I did after my second day in Jamaica.. Only this time it does not hurt so much.. Hmm hope I go brown... :)

Sitting in the sun watching the kids play around it has been fun up until a little girl scratched my Francis's face and believe it or not there was blood... I could not believe it... And then she goes and takes out a second victim... WOW she is a little devil.. But then she tried it on her sister, while the boys did nothing but run to us (Francis wanted a cuddle), the other boy wanted his mummy, but I gave him a cuddle. Her sister took a different course of action.. :) She pushed her to the ground and scrapped her nose...  She did not scratch anyone else today...   But of course tomorrow is a different day.. This little girl who is way off turning three, takes a victim almost every day, scratch, bite, kick, anything but at least one a day. She screams throw things.. Very interesting child...  Mind you her older sister is just as interesting.  She through a ball today not to anyone in particular, but our little 18 month old child that we have there ran over to collect the ball, and she slapped him.. Well she did not like me making her sit down, she told me she was going to tell her mother on me... Well that back fired when her mum asked why I made her sit in the chair.... :) I don't think she'll dob on me again. :)

Needless to say it has been an interesting day... :)

The weather is fantastic...

by JessgoreComment Published at 19:4819:483 comments3 comments10 Visits10 VisitsReport

Well as you know I got back from Jamaica yesterday and I must say the weather here in Quebec has been beautiful....

Today we played outside most of the day.. I had to go and pick up the dog in the morning which my son was sooooo happy about.  Then I had to go and get him washed because he smelt like a dog. :)  I would have washed him myself but the guy who cuts his nails and washes his ears does such a better job then I do....

My son was able to reclaim toys that had been buried under the snow for the past what feels like 8 months...  But he also found a garden hose attachment which for some reason became attached to today and would you believe after a good wash he asked to take it to bed... Weird.. It is shaped like a gun, but he was actually pretending all day to water the garden...  I had to actually explain this today while we went to the supermarket.. Yep he took it with him there too..

He did not sleep well last night, and he is not sleeping well again tonight... He has a bit of a cold.. I don"t know what to do because he just keeps calling my name, and yet when I go to him he kicks like a mule, and it is either leave him alone or get hurt... I can't do anything unless he is fully awake and he is not at all really awake.. Poor little guy.. I am at a loss...  But I am sure he will be fine later.. I just hope he lets me sleep tonight... :)

Although last night he came to my room and asked me to come and sleep with him...  Which was nice, kinda... Hard to sleep in his bed...  But I loved the hugs... xxx

Only 6 hours to go...

by JessgoreComment Published at 18:0818:083 comments3 comments16 Visits16 VisitsReport

Until we leave for the airport.

My SIL popped on at about 8.30pm to tell me my son was quite and happy in bed.. WHAT THE?????? He is never quite and happy in bed for me at that hour, I think she drugged him.. HMMMMMMMM Something fishy going on there. :)

Might have helped that I kept him awake all day and that when we took him to my SIL he played hard with my nephews before they had to go to bed.. She did tell me though he asked for the dog. :)

I still have things to pack, and clean.. Can I be bothered no... :) Will I do it.. Of course I will... I am a speed cleaner NOT.. But for some reason I always get things done, NOT....

Oh well... My coffee is almost finished meaning break time is almost over.. I wonder if I will sleep at all before we go?  we have to leave at 3am. Our friend is coming to take us to the airport, nice friend... :)

I hope Francis goes to bed as easy tomorrow night as he did tonight..  Cross my fingers... :)

Well if I don't blog at least one more time before I go hope you all have a wonderful week...

I will miss my baby, but I will enjoy the not having to wake up because I am told too... :)

Here I am again... 1.12pm

by JessgoreComment Published at 10:1710:174 comments4 comments11 Visits11 VisitsReport

Ok my side of the suit case is packed. Francis is packed.. Dog has gone to the kennel, and I now just have to clean the house and get my nails done...  I sound so posh when I say that. LOL but my nails are my new little pleasure... just for me...

Anyway took the dog to the kennel this morning.. It was great getting there but leaving was hard, because poor Francis did not understand that we are going to pick him up again later.  He kept telling me to go back and get him... He finally calmed down when I let him push a trolley around the supermarket... I forgot the sunscreen. I'll get it later...

Now just waiting for the hubby to pack his side, and tonight when Francis goes to his Aunts, I am going to vacuum and mop the floor and tidy up just in case the sister in-law needs to come into the house for something. I'd like to keep the allusion that our house is always tidy. Of course it is not and she has seen it at it's worse.  But she makes the excuses I don't have to, try cleaning with a dog and a two year old... :) You walk into her house and it is like no one lives there, how she does it I don't know....  ONe day I might be like that...

Anyway back to have a quick look around at the new stuff before i head off.. No doubt I'll be back down here tonight just waiting to get ready to catch the plane.. Yippppeeeee.

If I don't get back on, hope every one has a wonderful week...

This is so sad it is amlost amusing..

by JessgoreComment Published at 19:4919:4921 comments21 comments36 Visits36 VisitsReport

Ok it is amusing but I hope it is only a faze...

My son whom I love dearly, does not always listen, and hates it when I was his hair...  Tonight I had no problems what so ever, in fact tonight was the first time I totally enjoyed giving my son a bath... :)

A little back ground...  My son does not like to listen and often when I say come here he does not like a lot of kids... Anyway, one day I was at the day care, and I was trying to leave with him and he refused to come..  So I whistled as I would if I was calling my dog, and Francis got down on all fours and pretended to be a dog and came over to me and got up and happily dressed in his snow suit and out the door. But not before myself and my friend were in fits of laughter.. I had to promise her that I had never done that before...  And I was just whistling out of Frustration because he would not come to me so we could leave...

Anyway tonight again he did not want his hair washed until I said " Good dog." I mean he let me scrub, he let me take the water out with out a fuss, I was even able to wash his ears with out him throwing a fit... His dad is much better at bath time then I do.. But tonight was so good....  But I just hate the fact i had to tell him he was a good dog... :)

And to top it all off even more amusing then that...  I now have a red scratch that looks like a bruise on my boob (ok that is not the amusing bit), because the dog fell in the bath tub...  He jumped up on the edge of the bath on Francis's side and I could not get to the dog to get him down, dog while walking around the edge of the bath (ours is kind of triangle bath) and he slips on the water and in he goes, as I was getting him  out Francis was laughing very hard, and the dog scratched my boob as I lifted him out of the bath..

First time Baby sitter...

by JessgoreComment Published at 19:5519:554 comments4 comments14 Visits14 VisitsReport

Ok we needed to go out last night it was a friends birthday, we knew for a couple of weeks but were having trouble finding a baby sitter for the night...   Then hubby comes up with this idea...

"How about we let Camille Babysit?"  "Oh I don't know." was my answer...

You see she is only 12, and well while i know myself I was baby sitting for other people at the age of 12, if I remember rightly my summer job when I was only days turned 13 was to baby sit two kids three days a week from 8 am until 4pm.  I could call my parents if needed but they were still a fair distance away...

Camille had just finished her babysitter course, and sometimes proved to be a little irresponsible, so I was really umming and arring about it.  Anyway the date got closer and we really could not find anyone to baby sit.  And the husband really really wanted to give her the chance.  So I told him only and only if his sister was home (who lives right next door).  So I rang her and asked if she'd be home, and I asked her to please call at least once...   Because I know that if Francis was giving her trouble she would not call for help unless he was in trouble, but she'd stress herself out if he was giving her trouble before she called because she would not want us to worry and I know she would want to do a good job, if you know what I mean...

Anyway the SIL was more then happy to be there if needed in a second, and just so that I felt comfortable, I sat down with Camille and explained that this is a test, a big test and that her Aunt was next door in case of an emergency.  And of course to call us as well...

I will admit that I was nail biting all through dinner, and left a little earlier then the husband (we took two cars because he was supposed to go to a bucks night after but never ended up going).  I only received two calls that night, one to ask how long to microwave dinner, and the second was to ask if they were allowed to play in the back yard...

When I got home she was waiting for me, and so was Francis... He was wide awake, he was so happy you could see he had a lot of fun, Camille was how ever very tired..  I arrived home it was 10pm, and with in 15 minutes of me getting home Francis finally fell asleep. Camille on the other hand wanted to wait for papa, I said she can wait until 11pm if he is not home by then she had to go to bed, so she sat with me and we played a game of Orthello, and she explained the book Spiderwick to me, which by the way is a beautiful book.  Not the story books, but the actual book from the movie written by Auther Spiderwick.    It was 11pm and I said off to bed, papa arrived just as she finished brushing her teeth and paid her.

He did ask me first though should we pay her for baby sitting her brother.. And I said yes, because well he can be a monster,  and it is not like we are asking her to watch him while we take a shower, she really had to work tonight, and you could see she did.   I was very proud.  The house was in no more of a mess then when I left it, Francis looked more then happy, and well basically as I said I am proud of her...  While I still don't agree that a 12 year old should really be looking after children (ok it depends on the child I guess and other peoples opinion's),  I would let Camille baby sit her brother again, but only if, and only if my sister in-law is home next door just in case of an emergency.

I did tell Camille that I asked her Aunt to call to check up on them, just so that she did not get the feeling that I did not trust her.  It is not that I did not trust her, just that it was her first time baby sitting, and well you know it's my baby.. :)  They both are and having Auntie check in on them both made me more comfortable about leaving them here for a little while.... But I would not have done it if my SIL had to go out for the night..

Still very proud.. OH and she got her report card today for end of term... YIPPPPPEEEEEEE she did excellent.. 95% in Math... And some really other good scores.. She really has picked up this year....

Every single time I make an appointment for something, something else happens.. I am going to be known as the woman who cancels appointments.. GRRR I hate that..  And it is always due to the hubby either changing a work date, or not telling me something is happening until really late.. GRRRR..

And tell me why is that when we say "Honey can you help me for a second", they say "Wait I'll be there in a minute" and arrive to late.. Yet when they say "can you come and help me?" We drop every thing we are doing just to be there to help them with what ever it is, even if just to find the remote control????????????????????????

Just went shopping.. OUCH but kinda in a good way...

by JessgoreComment Published at 09:2209:228 comments8 comments27 Visits27 VisitsReport

Well as the title suggests I just went shopping and spent lots of money... But I did get some new clothes for Francis and socks which he desperately needed due to the dog literally taking them from his feet....  And I did not want the sister in-law to think that I don't dress my child as he is staying with her for a week soon..  Also I brought a little chair like sofa bed for him to sleep on while at my SIL's. It is actually going to be his birthday present.  She asked me to pick it up for her today. It is a great idea and with any luck he'll want to sleep in it while there...

His grandmother is happy because Francis is going to sleep at her place for the first two nights we are away and she is stoked because she just loves to see him.   I really hope he will be happy while we are gone and does not miss us as much as I will miss him.   My SIL has two boys whom he just adores so I am sure they will keep him busy.

Also I brought myself three pair of jeans. Almost brought a Bikini that I could have gotten away with, but put them back on the shelf because I brought some bathers the other day and really needed the jeans more.   I am surprised that I brought my jeans because I have so much trouble when buying stuff for myself I usually need the shopping devil to sit on my shoulder and say BUY BUY BUY....

And of course food for the week, although I think I over did it... :)

My son found my harmonica.. I don't actually play but it is one of two instruments I have that were owned by my great great grandfather.  Anyway three days ago my son found the harmonica and figured out what to do with it and played all day... And even went to bed with it...  And for the rest of the next day he played it too..  Oh how I wish he did not, but I did not want to squash any musical talents that may have been passed down to him from generations of music playing in our family...   The other instrument I have is a bugle trumpet kind of thing, that I also do not play.. :) But he is not getting his hands on that one... :) (YET).

I asked him if he wanted to play a song for all my friends on MINTI....

First Hair cut.....

by JessgoreComment Published at 17:1717:1710 comments10 comments30 Visits30 VisitsReport

Well it was a beautiful day today, we hit 10 degrees.  So it was a nice day to get the car out, and of course go for Francis's first hair cut...

So I went to a place my SIL suggested but it closed down.. GRRRRR. So we went home and and rang the SIL and she suggested another place.. Hubby asked if I would like him to come with us. It was such a beautiful day I said I would love you to come along...  Then he says "I'll drive".  So I did not get to drive my car as much as I wanted today but tomorrow is another day.. :) And he is going to borrow it to go and pick Camille up from school tomorrow which is cool because she lives a fair distance and he will fill it with gas.. Yipppeeee. :)

Anyway back to the hair cut.. I did not like the place we went. The women looked thrilled to be there, and even more thrilled when my son went to the chair kicking and screaming..  She made a note of how bad my hair cuts were (and really I did not need to be told, but it was slightly amusing), and she did mention my bad hair cut made it hard for her hair cut to look good.  Now my poor baby has none  of that baby blond he had before.. Oh how I loved that baby blond.. Oh well that is the price you have to pay for being able to see through your locks of hair and he did have a lot of it. It was all over the floor.

Hubby has asked me never to go back.  And I said gladly, it just did not seem friendly, while they had a telly playing, and a fun chair to sit in (which actually was not that fun as it was broken, and there were many other fun unbroken chairs there) it just did not seem friendly at all, none of the women smiled and honestly I thought that if you were going to work with Children (as frustrating as they get) you may just want to smile once..

Anyway the result was not to bad, I just miss my baby's hair.. :) But I knew it could not stay like that for ever, they would start to think he was a girl...  He does not look to impressed.. :)

2 minute walk turns into 1/2 hour...

by JessgoreComment Published at 18:3918:392 comments2 comments20 Visits20 VisitsReport

I live just under a 2 minute walk from day care... Francis and I were leaving and I asked him to leave the car behind.. OH MY... Well it was not his car, but he swore that it was, and refused to leave with out it. So I picked him up and popped on his jacket and boots, in between hits and screams (Oh how I wish i had the pram).. Anyway finally I get him up off the floor and out the door.  Walk I say, he says no and sits down.. Yeah the snow is melting.. No snow pants so he sits in a puddle of water..

I try the what ever and walk off trick.. Did it work no.. So I pick him up and he kicks and throws himself around screaming so I have to put him down before I drop him.. As he gets closer to the ground he does this thing and it looks like I have thrown him into another puddle... Thankfully anyone watching from their windows does not come out and scream abuse...   Finally after a few pick up, put downs with in 1/2 hour we were home...  We get in the door and he is still screaming and Harry Hudini is waiting for us at the door (explain that in a tic)...   SO I figure I am not dealing with this, so I told Francis to let me know when he is done screaming...

Five minutes later all is quite I was in the kitchen wondering why the noise had stopped, I know he did not go up the stairs because I could see those from where I am (Our down stairs is all open). I pop my head around the corner and there is francis on the tiles by the front door asleep...  I could not believe he just fell asleep..  But I could not have this it was 4pm and if he slept he would not go to bed.. Eventually I managed to wake him, but the only thing that worked was the word "Surprise"... Which when talking to him usually means some form of lollie, For grandpa (my dad) it means a cookie, for Papi (hubby's dad) it means chocolate... Anyway it was amazing he was awake and running to sit at the table ready.. So I gave him one Jelly Bean..  I think he felt a little ripped off at only getting one but he had not been a good boy and I only needed him to wake up so he would go to sleep later...

To keep him awake I got Harry Hudini on his chain and we all went for a walk. That was fun. Francis had fun with that.. He found lots of melted snow puddles, (Oh how I wish I had some gumboots for him).  And he fell asleep tonight by 8.30pm.. That is a good thing..

Now Harry Hudini, is other wise known as Murray the dog...  No matter what we do to keep him in his cage he is always out and ready to greet us by the time we get home from where ever we are...  No amount of tying the door closed, pushing a full on heavy marble table up against the cage, even putting the door of the cage up against the wall does not work... I just don't know what to do... AHHHHHHHHHHH

Oh well I am sure we will figure it out but if this dog is not careful hubby has suggest a BBQ the minute the snow melts.. I of course am not up for it... And he is only joking, but it is soooo frustrating to put the dog in his cage only to have him set the house alarm off when we are not there... GRRRRRR. We have had to change the alarm to stop him setting it off... GRRRRRR.

I think a new cage is in order... :)
