We are a blended family, though my girlfriend and I are not married. And we live in Hawaii. Kris, my girlfriend, is a mother of two. Kris is a "Students with Disabilities Services Coordinator" at a local community college. I am the "stay-at-home parent". Ain''t that a kick in the head! But it''s okay! 6 years ago I lost my job due to experiencing a grand mal seizure. I asked Kris what she needed from me, she said someone to be there for her children who were still in elementary school then. I said cool and here we are. It''s wierd, but it works for us. Kris is the most crafty person I know, and I''m like, "okay . . . I can do that too!" So I''m starting to get into crochet now. Wow, I''m such a dude! To me, it''s all good. If by participating in what tickles her, or floats her boat, I can help make her life a little better . . . well, you know. I just think she''s great. |

It's been quite a long time since I've been here. And yes, I do feel a bit guilty for having to make some rather difficult decisions because of the various turn of events the family has been having to deal with. Anyone who wishes to discuss these things may inquire privately, I just think it's inappropriate to simply broadcast it over the net for all to see. I'm just very glad, and honored to see that my Minti family is still going strong and living well. |
