My Recent Gifts

Poor Kasandra has no gifts, brighten up their day with a present.

Me and My Family

My husband and I have 1 daughter who was born in January 2006.  She has been an absolute dream to date(hopefully this won't change!).

We live in rural NSW.  With me working 3 days a week and my husband working on the family farm.  Hence, our daughter loves animals of any description.  Our biggest problem with her is going to be keeping her away from animals not getting her to interact with them.

Growing up very quickly

Comment Published at 13:5113:511 comments1 comments16 Visits16 VisitsReport

it seems that the last week my little girl has really grown up all of a sudden.  she is 131/2 mths but the way she is acting at the moment it is as though she is over 2!!!!  We had dinner with friends on friday night who have a 2yr old girl and T was more advanced than she was.  Is this normal?  lately she is completly feeding herself, trying to dress herself (quite funny to watch!), trying to put her shoes on, etc, etc.  is it normal for kids to grow up all of a sudden like this?  i'm not complaining don't get me wrong. its more the fact that she is still only a baby/toddler yet she is doing things that kids a lot older are doing.  could this also be due to the fact that she is in homecare with kids that are older eg 2,3,4?  i love my little girl and i'm not trying to stop her growing up, just think its too soon for her to be doing the things that she is.

1st hiccup

Comment Published at 18:2918:290 comments0 comments17 Visits17 VisitsReport

today is the first day since T started day care that I have had to organise something else at the last minute.  her carer rang this morning and her youngest son has been up all night with a temperature.  luckily my MIL was able to have her today(she has her on mondays) so it wasn't a big drama.  it has made me think though what would you do if you didn't have any relatives close by who you could call on when needed?  would you take the day off work or what?  hopefully i wont have to deal with that type of situation.  i'm very lucky that MIL does look after her and is willing to   do so when required.  T also likes it because she gets to have lunch with dad when MIL has her, so she gets more dad time.

day off tomorrow which will be good however i'll only be doing housework(along with a lot of playing).

Very Big Suprise

Comment Published at 18:1218:120 comments0 comments29 Visits29 VisitsReport

Sitting at work this morning, as per usual on a wednesday, and a courier comes in the door carrying a big bunch of roses.  We all looked at him as if to say that he had the wrong building.  Next thing he says that the roses are for me.  VERY, VERY big suprise.  Today is the first time that my husband has brought me roses EVER.  I must admit that it was a very nice suprise.  Generally on Valentines Day I get a card and a nice diner made when we get home tonight and sit down with a nice bottle of wine, so i'm not complaining, but I GOT ROSES!!!

Sorry about this but i am quite excited as I love having flowers in the house, and generally do.  The only problem is i have to find a spot to sit them, where everyone can see them, that Little Miss Independent can't get at them because i'msure that she would love them  as well.

Little Miss Independent

Comment Published at 17:2117:212 comments2 comments32 Visits32 VisitsReport

T has all of a sudden become "Little Miss Independent".  This is a bit scary seeing she is only just 13mths.  At the moment if she can't feed herself she wont have any of it.  This is fine with me because it means that I can now eat at the same time so that it is more of a meal time than just T's meal time.  The only problem is that she can't hold the spoons and forks that we have properly because they turn around in her hands so it makes it hard for her to get the food into her mouth.  I know that you can get kids cutlery that is bent to fit into their hands properly which I think that I'm going to have to invest in to make it easier for her to feed herself.

It was quite funny this morning as i was getting her dressed I had chaged her shirt and was about to put her shorts on and she grabed them from me, sat down and it looked like she was trying to put them on herself.  I'm not sure if she was but it definately looked as though thats what she was trying to do.  It made me wonder at what age do kids want to dress themselves, chose their own clothes etc?
