End of Half Term week

Comment Published at 14:1914:198 comments8 comments18 Visits18 VisitsReport

Well, half term is over, Em's back to school on Monday; Grandma & Grandad went back home today. My neck has almost stopped being stiff, and no more fainting - I guess the two were related. Grandad has been working like crazy and has managed to finish laying the patio with Alan's help. Cant wait to use it in the summer! Emma has had swimming lessons every morning this week and has really gained in confidence. We went swimming as a family this afternoon and Em had a great time. Sophie enjoyed herself no end but got cold rather too quickly, and there werent enough changing rooms which was a nuisance. Better get on!

Funny how the holidays are always different all over the country, you would think they would get together when planning them LOL

Glad you are feeling a little better too

oh well, maybe it keeps the cost of holidays down (as if....!) LOL! It would make it easier if they were predictable.

So, now mine are over and you're jetsetting off on yours. I got a patio and you get to sit in a hot tub - no comparison! Sure you'll thoroughly enjoy yourself!!!

it was lovely seeing the girls have such fun swimming, and to share that with DH - they miss a lot when they're at work dont they? There was a definite draft coming into the baby pool area somehow - unfortunately the place seems to be getting a bit run down, hope they dont shut it, Council would save a bomb if they did but we would miss it so much.

Re: End of Half Term week

Oh it's sooo nice to have a patio at last! Just a bit of pointing to finish! This patio has been in planning for about a decade, and dear FIL started it while he was here in the fortnight after DD2 was born 16 months ago & feeling a bit at a loose end, so he's excavated a bit each time he came, edged it up with bricks, filled it with hardcore, so all in all it's been a building site for over a year. Before that I had the designated area covered with a carpet, so baby feet (DD1) were safe and the weeds wouldnt grow. And before that, it was a pile of bricks from our extension being built and the chimneybrests being knocked down. At last, it's useable, yipee!

Yes, it was a lovely half term, Ive been blessed with great inlaws, and it certainly makes the school breaks go quick when there are extra adults around. Sanity-saver! I havent really got into going swimming as a family but I ought to.
