Report Time

Comment Published at 14:1814:183 comments3 comments19 Visits19 VisitsReport

Well, the sleep did Emma a lot of good. I wouldnt say she's completely normal, but she's a lot closer than yesterday. Phew!

Today she brought home her first ever school Report. Thankfully it was a nice read! The teacher wrote "Emma has an individual creative flair which should be celebrated & encouraged. It has been a pleasure to teach Emma....". Yes, she certainly gets Emma, doesnt she! At the back of the report were a load of numbers for maths, english, etc. Emma scored all 8s and 9s (proud mum!) except under social, where she got a 6. She still has a bit to learn about getting on with others, sharing and turn taking for example. I'm so glad she was 5 when she started school, as a year before she would have struggled far more in that department. She only missed starting school a year earlier by 5 days, and she was 2 weeks after her due date, so it could easily have happened.

We have continued with the weird weather today. I just had the wettest pickup from school yet. Unfortunately it was still fine when Soph & I got in the car, and as I was running late I skipped putting on coats. By the time I arrived at school 5 minutes later, the rain had arrived, and not a little drizzle but a deluge! I had Sophie's rain poncho in the car, so she went inside that, and I managed to dig out Emma's small Thomas the Tank Engine umbrella, but by the time we got in the school gate we were getting pretty damp already. Then it was 5 minutes before the kids came to the door. I grabbed Emma, who had a hooded coat on, and said "RUN!" We dashed for the car but were still soaked through. And we couldnt go straight home coz we had a hair appointment booked, so we arrived at the hairdressers with very wet hair!

Sophie is still sad, so Im blaming that tooth again. Today she added "eee" (key) to her vocabulary - an older lady in a shop realised what Sophie was telling her - naughty mummy was filtering out the babble in order to concentrate on the shopping, and mummy had given her the bunch of keys to play with! At this rate she will be fine by her 5 year check! And to think, I was worrying about it a week ago!

Re: Report Time

Isn't it good for mums too when your children bring home a pleasing report and of course you are so proud of them. You know how thrilled Helen was with Daniel's this week . He is growing up so quickly now.

Hope little Sophie cuts her teeth with ease it is hard for them

Re: Report Time

It is so nice to know she has done fine and is enjoying herself. Though she has to learn she cant win every time LOL! It was the sports day today and she didnt win, & was pretty disappointed. A lesson she needs to learn methinks!
