Ultrasound comforting

Comment Published at 04:4704:472 comments2 comments174 Visits174 VisitsReport
I had an u/s today and it was a great relief to see the little bean with a heart beat. My due date is now the 5th March 2007. I've always wanted a March baby and as my pregnancies seem to be going longer, it will probably be closer to the middle of March. Only one baby and I wasn't sure if I was relieved or disappointed. I 'll be happy if it survives the pregnancy , really that's all that matters. The technician did find a blood clot right next to the baby which did freak me out  but I won't know if it's a problem until I see my haemotolgist in a month's time. Hopefully, it's connected with the bleeding I had a couple of weeks ago and will go away by itself.

Colt has now gone into a bed and I shall put away the cot for a little while. He seems to have grown up so fast. He is being a little naughty about going to bed at night but is OK during the day. Now my eldest daughter has her eye on their room, so I told her to be a little patient because I want to redecorate it for her and can't afford to do that now.
Took the kids to the library and they had a great time, now it's bed time, yay......

hooray for school holidays

Comment Published at 06:0606:060 comments0 comments159 Visits159 VisitsReport
i love the school holidays. No more racing aroung first thing in the morning and trying to keep everyone focused on getting ready. I'm looking forward to spending some time with the kids going for bushwalks and to the beach for a play. A couple of the kids are going to camps so that should change the family dynamics enough to make the rest of them feel like their on holiday too.
I'm hoping to get some sewing done, there's so many little mending jobs that need taking care of. I bet that at the end of the holidays, they'll still be undone and I'll be waiting for the kids to go back to school so I can get around to it.

19 years together

Comment Published at 07:5707:574 comments4 comments192 Visits192 VisitsReport
My hubby asked me out 19 years ago today. Lucky it's an easy date to remember! We went to see "Click" tonight to celebrate and thoroughly enjoyed it, definetely one to go to if you haven't seen it already. It was a nice reminder of how fast time goes. I don't really feel like I've gotten older at all, maybe I'm just not getting any wiser. It's a sad thing when your eldest child acts more maturely than you, but hey, I like being slightly crazy. You can get away with stuff, just blame it on hormones or  "the kids made me do it".
Had a heap of blood tests and wee tests yesterday. The poor dracula lady was complaining that all the patients were mucking up her day 'cause she wasn't getting any work done! The poor love. My vein stopped pumping blood on the 8th vial so she started wiggling the needle to see if she could squeeze out a couple more drops. I think I shall go elsewhere for the next round!
Have made appts for an U/S, my obstetrician and haemotologist and chiropractor. It's such a joy to keep all these doctors off the unemployment line. And someone actually gave me a due date finally, 7th March 2007. So we shall see if the U/S agrees this time. Last time it shaved 8 weeks off what I expected! I still can't believe that it took me 3 months to realize I was pregnant. You'd think I should know how this works by now.....

Just another ordinary day

Comment Published at 08:3308:330 comments0 comments135 Visits135 VisitsReport
Well, not really. I decided today that even ordinary days are full of promise. I am still pregnant, which is a fantastic thing, no morning sickness, which is a great thing too. I'm very excited about having a new baby, but I don't want to wish away the pregnancy either. I really enjoy being pregnant and I can't really complain about the labours, so I have decided to enjoy each ordinary day that comes along. Each pregnancy has always felt like it took forever, and it always feels like each child grows up in about 5 minutes. Time flies when you're having fun.
