It's nice having an extra day up the sleeve! Went to the dawn service yesterday,..amazing since it's such a small town..there were well over 2000 people in attendance! ( town population 500!) I always get a shiver up my spine in thankfulness to those that fought to make us what we are today and a sadness to think that so many died in places so far away when at times it was fruitless! My own grandpa survived WW1 and WW2 and always marched, but with sadness for the many friends and colleauges that he lost rather than with pride.......always makes me think!
i used to attend every year when i was younger. parents were in the scouts, so we were very involved. I still get that tingle. i was always told about family members who fought.
