Hi,
I am 39 years old. I have been married to my husband for 12 years. We have one daughter, Katie who turned 4 in October.
We have lived in the Northern Territory for 17 years ( my husband longer than this!) mostly in remote areas. Pre mummy-hood I worked as a teacher, school principal and as an advisory teacher, working in the areas of teaching English as a Second Language, Special Needs and working with students with hearing loss.
I now do cleaning and gardening work that is very flexible so it fits in with my hubby's very erratic schedule! I have also been doing some work from home for the Education Department in the past few months...has been great to get my brain in gear again...even if it is at midnight when I finally get things done!!! A bit bleary in the mornings but oh well!
There are not many services or facilities where we are and going to town entails a 3 hour return trip! As opposed to the 6 hours it took us untill we moved !) There are very few other children Katie's age so we tend to make our own fun! The cherub has started pre-school which is fantastice for her and for me! There are 2 other pre-schoolers so they have lots of fun!
We love travelling, having friends around for dinner, going fishing, working on our property in Queensland ( retirement plan A!) exploring the great outdoors and lots of other stuff! |
