Hi guys,
Well yesterday afternoon my little suburb in Tas got his with a freak storm. Now this kind of thing doesn't happen very often down here so most people were hiding inside . . BUT NOT ME . . rofl . . Being originally from NSW I had seen these sort of storms before so I had Sumara and Danesha out with me cheering on the rain, thunder and lightening. Sumara just loved the flashes and clapped with glee while Danesha was overwhelmed by how much rain came down.
After the worst of the storm passed I finally found my camera to take a few shots which are posted below of my front yard. Sorry that some of them are overexposed but it was really bad light and I had to do this so you could see properly . .
Anyway - Around an hour later I got a message from Sam say "OMG mum are you alright?? How are tony and the girls?" . . Well I thought she was losing her mind as it was just an awesome thunderstorm . . So I txt'd her back and said yes we were fine, we not scared of thunder in this house . . rofl . . .
Well the joke was on me as Sam ended up ringing to tell me a a few shops etc in my local suburbs main street had their roof's blown off and some even had flooding . . OOOOPS, what is even more shocking is that I live less than 200 metres from the town centre . . SO I guess we were lucky, as all we got was some flooding . .

Ironically we were the only ones in the street to get all this water in our yard . . Hubby and I are glad that we had not yet laid down all the pine bark etc as we would have lost the lot . . I think all the new renovations that next door have been doing have sadly effected the run off to our property . . Hopefully the problem can be fixed. |

Re: FLOOD at our house . . .
Hi honey,
Floods can be so very devastating especially when it takes a human life . . People and families were lucky in my area, the only loss was to the businesses that were affected BUT even that loss will be felt hard by those who own them.
cheers Kellz
