Thankyou

by KellzacarComment Published at 02:0402:0416 comments16 comments59 Visits59 VisitsReport
I'd like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who left Birthday messages for me. They really made my day!

This morning I was woken up by my 8yr old daughter and hubby who were looking very pleased with themselves. Then I noticed a tray beside my bed laden with bacon and eggs and orange juice. Also on the tray was birthday cards, one from each of them!

After eating a rather lovely and decadent breakfast it was time to open my presents! . . . Hubby had brought me another wizard to add to my collection, the biggest surprise was that he had picked it out all by himself! . . . Danesha brought me some lovely candles holders and plastered me with huge hugs and kisses. Sumara looked on with interest and then promptly insisted on ripping all wrapping paper in to tiny pieces and laughing with mischief that whole time.

My only sad part of the day was when Sam decided not to come home for our family tea.... Family tea's are a tradition in our family and have been since the day I brought Sam home from the hospital. . . At first she was coming but then she wanted to bring a few friends, as I couldn't afford to feed them I politely gave her an out option. . . Teenagers!!!!!!

Anyway - once again THANKS to all who sent messages as you really did brighten my day. It's strange as last year it was only family wishing me a happy day, this year there were so many from this GREAT community and I am PROUD to call them friends . . . .

Flaming of members ENOUGH IS ENOUGH ! ! !

by KellzacarComment Published at 05:1005:1018 comments18 comments93 Visits93 VisitsReport
Earlier today I reported a Q&A as it was directly flaming a member! ! ! ! Ironically this member was anonymous, NO shock there I suppose . . .

Admin backed me up as they too was aware of this incident . .

YET still 4 YES 4 members have voted in NOT in breach . . .  WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!!! So I commented and here is what I said:

Why is  it that members could possibly find this is NOT in BREACH!!

Grow up !!

The more these types of attacks happen the more upset i become and I am beginning to see that there really are some nasty creatures that are inhabiting this site!

I stand behind what I say! ! ! ! I am sick to death of it!!!! Please keep your high school mentality AWAY from Minti.

I strongly urge any members who know the members that are causing this grief to come forward and report them. Do it for Minti and for all the genuine members . .

END OF RANT

I am a big SOOK

Well its official, I am a sook!

I have the FLU and it's driving me nuts . .  The runny nose, the headache the sore eyes etc I can handle BUT the throat is driving me insane! ! ! ! I've tried everything BUT nothing is helping it, even grandma's tried and true recipes are not doing anything.

So off to the chemist I went . . Spent a small fortune and still NO luck . . .  Hubby thinks it amusing as I never get cold and flu's etc and now I have one . . Glad he can see the funny side.. . . . . At least I have a new excuse "not tonight honey I have the FLU!!!" That;ll teach him for laughing at me

Seriously though, this damned flu has totally stuffed up my diabetes and Lupus . . NOT HAPPY . . .  I feel so damned miserable.

A funny tale to share

by KellzacarComment Published at 20:3120:317 comments7 comments31 Visits31 VisitsReport
Yesterday my hubby and I were sitting on the front steps with Danesha and Sumara as this was the only place where we had some shade from the bloody hot sun.

Danesha spotted what she called a "cute little spider" and begged us not to kill it . ..  WE laughed and said "hmm okay, but since when do you like spiders??" . .  Anyway we were sitting and laughing and generally having a good time when Sumara noticed the little spider crawling along the path . . She gave chase and we all laughed when suddenly she poked it with her finger and squashed the little spider flat.

Danesha was horrified, whilst all hubby and I could do was laugh . .I mean really what 18month old baby kills spiders?? . .  Danesha went on to lecture here little sister about "god's creatures" and her sister sat there listening intent;y then got up, casually walked over to where she had squashed the spider, trod on it and ran off giggling.

No amount of talking fro us could convince Danesha that Sumara really didn't understand - so now poor Sumara is in Danesha's bad books as are we for laughing . . . .

The joys of kids . . . . .

By now I know that you are aware of two old members that have rejoined our Minti family . . .

The members I am referring too are:
cheekymonkeys
electrifying02

Neither of these two caused any of the drama's that have been on Minti ! ! ! ! I am aware that they have been receiving emails asking them repeatedly who they are . . .

PLEASE can we all just stop this . . ..  They have come back after leaving because they missed being part of this GREAT site. They left due to all the bitching and have returned but for now wish to just have fun . . So lets give them time to settle in and then when they are ready they will let you all know who they are . . .

Cheers Kellz

Strange but TRUE

by KellzacarComment Published at 09:4509:4516 comments16 comments57 Visits57 VisitsReport
As many of you know my youngest daughter has had a rough start to life due to illness. . .  Hubby even gave up work to stay home and help as many many nights we have gone with out sleep.

Lately my youngest has been refusing to snuggle with me at night and if hubby is asleep then I have no choice but to wake him as she has been getting so upset and only wants her dad. Until tonight I have to admit that I was feeling a little neglected as what mum wants to take a back seat especially when it comes to their babies.

That has now all changed . . . Tonight hubby had fallen asleep on the couch so I had put a blanket over him and was going to let him sleep (we have a comfy couch). Bub woke in pain several times and for the majority I was able to settle her, but eventually she wanted dad.

So off we trotted up the hall into the lounge were hubby was happily snoring away. upon walking into the lounge my bub snuggled in and began to drift off to sleep. Shocked, i decided NOT to wake hubby and instead go comfy on the recliner. Bub was nearly asleep when Dad stopped snoring, whilst I was glad he had stopped bub wasn't and OG did she scream!!!! It seems it's not DAD my angel wants its his snoring!! . .  ROFL

Dad took over and fell asleep with her on the chair, snoring away. I waited until bub was deeply asleep before moving her back to bed and then woke hubby up laughing my head off. Now I have a job; to record hubby's snoring!!!

I wonder how many mums have a recording of their hubby snoring playing in their bub's room  . ..  By the end of the week I WILL . . ..

BBQ RULES

BBQ RULES

We are about to enter the summer and BBQ season soon. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity, as it's the only type of cooking a 'real' man will do, probably because there is an element of danger involved.

When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:

Routine...

(1)
The woman buys the food.
(2)
The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.
(3)
The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is waiting patiently beside the grill - beer in hand.

Here comes the important part:

(4)
THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.

More routine....

(5)
The woman goes inside to organise the plates and cutlery.
(6)
The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning. He thanks her and instructs her to bring another beer while he deals with the situation.

Important again:

(7)
THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.

More routine....

(8)
The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table.
(9)
After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.

And most important of all:

(10)
Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.
(11)
The man asks the woman how she enjoyed 'her night off.' And, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women....

I'm excited . .

by KellzacarComment Published at 09:5109:5116 comments16 comments75 Visits75 VisitsReport
My birthday is at the end of the month and it usually goes buy unnoticed as finances are always stretched especially at this time of year . . . BUT - I went to go into a cupboard tonight and hubby told me to get out and stay out.

Then I heard my 8 yr-old say "gee that was close dad, mum nearly seen her birthday prezzie. Want to hide it in my room?" Then there was alot of movement up the other end of the house . . . About an hour later I got a lecture form my darling 8 yr-old about privacy . . . She sat beside me and said "Mum you know how i am getting bigger, well I think I'd like some more of that privacy thing we talk about. How about we start with my room!?"

I nearly fell off my chair laughing BUT I kept it together and very seriously said "Sure honey, if thats what you want BUT you had better keep your room clean or I'll end up in there cleaning" . . .

With that she bolted and now has the cleanest and most private room of any 8 yr-old . . AND this year I'm getting a prezzie that isn't fro ma $2 shop and I haven't got a clue what it is. Normally I write a list of $2 items and the girls do the buying . . .

I am so excited and still laughing over my 8 yr-old!!!

Real Friends! ! !!

by KellzacarComment Published at 01:5601:5611 comments11 comments58 Visits58 VisitsReport
A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself and doesn't feel even the least bit weird shutting your 'beer/Pepsi drawer' with her foot!

A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend shoulder is soggy from your tears..

A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names.
A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after they've gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.
A real friend could blackmail you with it!

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.
A real friend calls you after you had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!
