Hi Guys,

Well what a start to Xmas . . . Hubby swears he will never eat KFC again . . .  We were so rushed on Monday that we called into KFC on the way to the in-laws to grab some lunch, we noticed that is was only warm but we were in such a hurry and were running so late that we ate it anyway.

Got to the in-laws at 5 instead of 3pm . . he he he he . . . Had a nice tea and went visiting a few other family members and then once the kids were asleep hubby and I snuck down to Cazza's for a few drinks . . .  Had a few laughs and snuck back inside the in-laws at 1.40am . . he he he

By 2am Christmas eve ALL of us were so ill ! ! ! ! The worst affected was my poor bub Sumara! ! ! She screamed in pain until 5.45am when she finally fell asleep totally exhausted only to wake again at 6.30am to the in-laws waking up for presents and fun!

Christmas day was so exhausting especially as we had NO sleep. Did the Xmas lunch etc and loaded the car up for the return 2.5 hour trip home . . . We arrived home, unloaded the car and just fell on the couch. Then we gave Sumara her tea and realised that we had left all our medications behind . .  ! ! ! ! SOS call in mother-in-law and then at 11pm last night I met her half way . . .

Got home AGAIN . .  Gave Sumara her medication and feel into bed! ! ! I No-one woke until 10am this morning! ! !  Done NOTHING today except SLEEP, eat and be lazy ! ! ! ! !

HO HO HO  . . WE ARE STUFFED

Wow - It took hubby and I 4 hours to wrap up the presents! ! ! I can't believe it took us that long and we are so totally stuffed! But all pressie's are tucked away and hidden from the girls . . .

As some of you know I have taken in another girl (16) who was facing Christmas alone and on the streets, she is a real gem of a girl and she seems really excited about Christmas. She will be coming with us and we intend to make sure she has FUN . .  She has been with us for a month now and is now making plans for next year, which is GREAT. She is planning to go back to school and we have told her that she is welcome to stay with us for as long as she needs.  BIG shocker is that community services wont do anything to help this girl as she is 16 (NOT SHOCKED ! ! ! Typical G'ment)

We are heading to the In-laws tomorrow and will spend Christmas eve there. . . We hope to make the best of a horrible situation as father-in-law is in urgent need of a heart bypass and can't get to worked up and brother-in-law is on his last legs with terminal stomach cancer . .  BUT we are ALL determined to have a good time . . .

Well I guess I am about to be "public enemy number 1"

BUT - AS a foster parent I have seen so many tragedies where parents have popped next door for a quick chat and disaster has struck. ! ! ! I have seen mums have nervous breakdowns because they couldn't forgive themselves as they thought what they were doing was ok! ! ! ! BUT it's NOT OKAY . . .

Not all children will make a noise when they wake up. How would you feel if your child died and you were "only" next door!!! . . . PEOPLE NEED TO GET A GRIP . .

After seeing some of the things I have seen I can tell you there is NO WAY in hell I would ever just pop next door, not even for a second.! ! ! ! !

** When I first saw this question I thought "OMG - here we go again" as I knew without a doubt that this would stir the pot. However I could also see that it is a valid question and was interested in the replies. Having said that I cannot believe just how many people think it's OK . . ..  And the when ONE MEMBER voiced her concerns she was literally slammed. YET what this member has said is correct. As far as I am concerned the only exception to this would be if the parent is suffering from PND, but hopefully this mum PND would have been noticed before this happens.

Like I said above - there is no way in hell I would EVER just pop next door ! ! ! ! !

For heavens sake people PLEASE LEARN TO STOP AND THINK . . . .

MERRY XMAS TO ALL . . . .

Hi Guys,

By now I am sure that many of you have either heard or know about all that has been happening on Minti in the past few days in relation to the gossip etc with my fundraising for Fi (lonely28).

Until now I have remained rather quiet on this issue as to be honest it was a lot to take in and I was also very shocked at all that had happened. I stand behind my fundraising as I felt and still do feel that it was for a great cause and I personally have NO regrets. I will continue to fund-raise if I see a person in trouble and I feel that I can help. Not only do I do this here on Minti but I have been known to do it locally as well as helping others is part of who I am.

When I sent out emails asking for donations I sent them only to people that either lived n Australia or to people I thought knew Fi and also to those whom had already expressed a desire to help. It was never about whether I knew the member or not nor was it about whether I was friendly or not with the member. IT was NOT about me, it was about fundraising to help someone in need. KARMA I like to call it; as I believe we get back from life what we put in.

BUT the biggest shock to come out of this was all those that came out in support of what I was doing. I am totally humbled and so very thankful to ALL who chose to support what I was trying to do.  . . .  It was a GREAT reminder about what Minti is all about, LOVE, COMPASSION, RESPECT, HONOR, FRIENDSHIP and SUPPORT.

Thanks to everyone for bringing back Minti's lost MOJO . . . . At least something good has come out of all of this! ! ! !

We ARE moving on the 10th January and Deb wanted to be able to come and help with the move but couldn't get a flight so she is coming later and having a holiday instead . . .

Well, what an interesting weekend . . . ROFL

WE HAD SO MUCH FUN ! ! ! ! . . . Cazza is a Great person with a fantastic sense of humour, which in my house in an essential thing to have.

Friday night was so funny with the dinner but afterwards so got to meet my teen who was very very intoxicated with her mates . . I was rather embarrassed but Cazza took it all in her stride and even said "i hope we weren't that bad" and continued to laugh at my daughters antics.

Saturday we took Cazza to see some sights and introduced her to Souvalaki, can you believe she had never dad it before!!! Then we came home and hubby and I cooked a roast fit for a king or queen. Poor Cazza was so full she could barely move. Once tea settle we hit the booze.

Woke up fine on Sunday with NO hangovers BUT sadly my Lupus was acting up (i think I spent too much time in the sun on Saturday) so we had a quiet day at home. I felt really bad but Cazza took it all in her stride!! She is a real trooper. Then at tea I introducuded her to my famous Tuna Mornay recipe and she loved it. Then once again we hit the booze.

THIS MORNING - I was hung over . .OMG I NEVER get hangovers, must be an age thing. . . . ROFL . . . WE laughed and joked a bit and then Cazza insisted on a pic before she left GRRRRRR . . .

Last night we went out to Cazza's dinner, we were all geared up for FREE grog and a good time. However little did Cazza know it was a christian do with NO yes people NO NO NO NO NO GROG ! ! ! It did however offer a lovely meal and LOTS and LOTS of prayers . . . The underside of the table was beginning to look rather appealing ! ! !

Don't get me wrong I am a believer and have the utmost respect for people who choose Christianity.  I just was suprised as I was expecting something much different. The look on Cazza's face said it all, poor girl was speechless.

Anyway we got home and all was good, I opened a bottle of wine and we got merry of Chrisco possum pee!!! Tasted like crap but at least it was grog . .

TODAY - Took Cazza to see some Burine sights, oh and of course on the way home we visited the bottle shop. So we are geared up for tonight. We are have a roast and then being lovely ladies that we are we are going to teach the teens how things are REALLY done . . .

Over the past few days I have been moved to tears often . . . .

WHY? Because so many of you have such kind souls and hearts and I've been receiving Christmas cards and even a birthday card (thanks Lara) in the post. Then just when I regain my composure I log into Minti only to discover more emails or posts in my lounge . . .. It's GREAT and reminds me of the kindness of others.

It's hard to believe that this time last year hubby and I were feeling so very lonely. We had no Christmas cards and no well wishes. WHY? - Because we have cleaned house with our friends and got rid of all the ones that took from us and never gave back (friendship is a two way street).

This has been a huge year for us. We have made many friends through this wonderful site, some of which I believe will last a life time!

So if I cry they are NOT tears of sadness but tears of joy and friendship - the best kind!!!

Thank you all for inviting us into your lives and hearts . . . "Merry Xmas" to ALL.

OMG - I can't believe you ALL . . .! ! ! ! Hubby does a blog about a surprise and you think I am pregnant. I can't believe how many emails etc I've had asking me this and say "you can tell me, I'll keep you secret" . . . ROFL

We got a house! ! ! ! FINALLY ! ! ! !!

Signed the lease and payed the money  . . YIPPEE . . . No more mold!!

We looked at 52 rental properties and finally found one with NO mold so we jumped at it . . . It's not quite what we were after but the no mold won us over . . . The BEST part is that Danesha can go back to her old school and her friends. She is more excited than us . . . . .

PARTY TIME . . . The only prob is we can't move in until Jan 10th as owners are moving to Q'land and won't be out 'til then but we HAVE A HOUSE and that's all that matters . . .

OH and we even have a RUMPUS that we are going to set up as a guest room for any Minti mums that want to visit, there will be enough beds to sleep 4 plus a porta cot ! ! ! ! YAY YAY
