I was invaded by . . .

Hi Guys,

Last night I was invaded by teens . . .

Once a week Sam comes and spends a night, she does this to spend some time with her sisters and to work on building up our family unit again . . IT'S GREAT . .  It's amazing how such a simple thing can really improve relationships .

Anyway, last night some of Sam's friends heard she was here and they all converged. Some of them haven't seen her in ages so it was like one huge reunion. . .  Come 1am I was tired, Sumara had finally settle so I had to play the big bad meannie and get rid of some of these teens . .

I got all the local ones to walk home and then bedded the rest.. We had 3 teens in the lounge, 3 in the rumpus and two in the garage . .  WHEW . . .  This morning was funny watching all these teens fighting over who got to use the mirror first. Sumara enjoyed stealing all their phones and make-up. It was a great laugh . .  Hubby then took all kids into town, home and work . .

OMG - Was I glad that was over . . .

Now TODAY is Danehsa's 9th birthday and she is having a slumber party so hubby and I have been madly wrapping gifts for pass the parcel and other party games . .  Fingers crossed that the younger kids aren't as loud as the older ones .

A have a feeling that after the weekend I am going to have some more grey hairs ..  HELP . . he he he

Cheers Kellz

FLOOD at our house . . .

by KellzacarComment Published at 11:2411:2434 comments34 comments56 Visits56 VisitsReport

Hi guys,

Well yesterday afternoon my little suburb in Tas got his with a freak storm. Now this kind of thing doesn't happen very often down here so most people were hiding inside . . BUT NOT ME . . rofl . . Being originally from NSW I had seen these sort of storms before so I had Sumara and Danesha out with me cheering on the rain, thunder and lightening. Sumara just loved the flashes and clapped with glee while Danesha was overwhelmed by how much rain came down.

After the worst of the storm passed I finally found my camera to take a few shots which are posted below of my front yard. Sorry that some of them are overexposed but it was really bad light and I had to do this so you could see properly . .

Anyway - Around an hour later I got a message from Sam say "OMG mum are you alright?? How are tony and the girls?" . . Well I thought she was losing her mind as it was just an awesome thunderstorm . . So I txt'd her back and said yes we were fine, we not scared of thunder in this house . .  rofl . . .

Well the joke was on me as Sam ended up ringing to tell me a a few shops etc in my local suburbs main street had their roof's blown off and some even had flooding . .  OOOOPS, what is even more shocking is that I live less than 200 metres from the town centre . .  SO I guess we were lucky, as all we got was some flooding . .

Ironically we were the only ones in the street to get all this water in our yard . . Hubby and I are glad that we had not yet laid down all the pine bark etc as we would have lost the lot . .  I think all the new renovations that next door have been doing have sadly effected the run off to our property . .  Hopefully the problem can be fixed.

NOAH updated to 2008

by KellzacarComment Published at 09:0809:0812 comments12 comments23 Visits23 VisitsReport

Hi guys,

I cam across this and laughed so hard that my sides ached . .  So I thought I would share it with you ALL as eveyone needs a good laugh ! ! !

In the year 2008, the Lord  came unto Noah, who was now living in the United States, and  said: "Once again,  the earth has become wicked and over-populated, and I see the end of  all flesh before me. Build another Ark and save 2 of every  living thing along with a few good humans."

He gave Noah the  blueprints, saying: You have 6 months to build the Ark before I will  start the unending rain for 40 days and 40 nights.

Six months later, the Lord looked down and saw Noah  weeping in his yard - but no Ark."Noah! He roared, I'm about to start the rain! Where is the Ark?"

"Forgive me, Lord", begged Noah,  'but things have changed,.

  • I needed a building  permit.
  • I've been arguing with the  inspector about the need for a sprinkler system.
  • My neighbors claim that I've  violated the neighborhood zoning laws by building the Ark in my yard  and exceeding the height limitations. We had to go to the  Development Appeal Board for a decision.
  • Then the Department of  Transportation demanded a bond be posted for the future costs of  moving power lines and other overhead  obstructions, to clear the passage for the Ark's move to the sea. I told them that the sea  would be coming to us, but they would hear nothing of it.
  • Getting the wood was another  problem. There's a ban on cutting local trees in order to save the  spotted owl. I tried to convince the environmentalists that I  needed the wood to save the owls - but no go!
  • When I started gathering the  animals, an animal rights group sued me. They insisted that I was  confining wild animals against their will. They argued the accommodations were too restrictive, and it was cruel and  inhumane to put so  many animals in a confined space.
  • Then the EPA ruled that I  couldn't build the Ark until they'd conducted an environmental impact  study on your proposed flood.
  • I'm still trying to resolve a  complaint with the Human Rights Commission on how many minorities I'm  supposed to hire for my building crew.
  • Immigration and Naturalization  are checking the green-card status of most of the people who want to  work.
  • Immigration and Naturalization  are checking the green-card status of most of the people who want to  work.
  • To make matters worse, the IRS  seized all my assets, claiming I'm trying to leave the country  illegally with endangered species.

So lord in summing up please forgive me, Lord, but it  would take at least 10 years for me to finish this Ark"

Suddenly the skies cleared, the  sun began to shine, and a rainbow stretched across the  sky.

Noah looked  up in wonder and asked, 'You mean you're not going to destroy the  world?'

"NO" said the lord . . . .  'The  government beat me to  it.

Hi guys,

Well - hubby has a new toy and its one for him and Sumara to enjoy . . He brought it to save us money, especially with the price of petrol ..  His new toy has stopped all the little trips and is a HUGE hit with Sumara . .

Sorry that the pics are so bad .  . Getting a new camera soon . . yay

All excited about the NEW bike trailer

Sumara Checking it all out and making sure Dolly was coming too

Sumara in and ready to go . . She LOVES it . . .

Moving off to the shop for some milk and bread

This bike seat/trailer is GREAT . . It can hold two children under 6 yrs and has a two 5 point harness's  . .  There is also a storage place behind the kids . . It also comes with a storm cover and a fly net . . .

All we have to do is say to Sumara :Do you wanna go for a ride" and she stops whatever she is doing. RUNS and grabs her shoes and helmet than beats us to the front door . .  She is more excited about the new bike seat than the new car seat . . .

Danesha also loves it as she can now go for longer bike rides with Dad and Sumara  and plans are being made!!! As for me, well I get a quiet house - what more could a mum want!!!

Generation Y - I always wondered...

by KellzacarComment Published at 23:1023:1019 comments19 comments39 Visits39 VisitsReport

In its January 22, 2008 edition, the Quebec City newspaper, Le Soleil, had a topic about generations by age group.

Generations are grouped as follows:

- The Silent generation, people born before 1945.

- The Baby Boomers, people born between 1945 and 1961.

- Generation X, people born between 1962 and 1976.

- Generation Y, people born between 1977 and 1989.

Why do we call the last one generation Y. I did not know, but a caricaturist explains it eloquently below...Learned something new!

Well tonight was a huge success and we had to bribe her to get her out after an hour!!!! The water was cold and she still wanted to stay . . So out came the Hi5 DVD, pout it on in the loungroom turned up the volume and the poor little angel was torn between her bath and har favouirte DVD . . In the end Hi5 won . . . Sneaky arent I . . .

Hi guys - This was sent to me via email and I thought that you would really appreciate it . . .

These are from a book called  ' Disorder in the American Courts ' , and are things people actually said in court, word for word , taken down and now published by court reporters who had the torment of staying calm while these exchanges were actually taking place

ATTORNEY:   Are you sexually active?

WITNESS:      No, I just lie there.

 ____________________________________________________________________

ATTORNEY:  What gear were you in at the moment of the impact?

 WITNESS:      Gucci sweats and Reeboks.

 ______________________________________

ATTORNEY:   This myasthenia gravis, does it affect your memory at all?

 WITNESS:        Yes.

ATTORNEY:   And in what ways does it affect your memory?

 WITNESS:       I forget.

ATTORNEY:   You forget? Can you give us an example of something you forgot?

 _____________________________________

ATTORNEY:  What was the first thing your husband said to you that morning?

WITNESS:    He said, 'Where am I, Cathy?'

ATTORNEY:  And why did that upset you?

 WITNESS:    My name is Susan!

 ______________________ ________________

ATTORNEY:   Do you know if your daughter has ever been involved in voodoo?

 WITNESS:     We both do.

 ATTORNEY:  Voodoo?

 WITNESS:     We do.

 ATTORNEY:  You do?

 WITNESS:     Yes, voodoo.

 ______________________________________

ATTORNEY:  Now doctor, isn't it true that when a person dies in his sleep, he doesn't know about it until the next morning?

WITNESS:   ;  Did you actually pass the bar exam?

 ____________________________________

ATTORNEY:  The youngest son, the twenty-year-old, how old is he?

 WITNESS:      Uh, he's twenty-one.

 ________________________________________

ATTORNEY:  Were you present when your picture was taken?

 WITNESS:     Are you shittin' me?

 ______________________________________

ATTORNEY:   So the date of conception (of the baby) was August 8th?

 WITNESS:      Yes.

ATTORNEY:  And what were you doing at that time?

WITNESS:     Uh.... I was gettin' laid!

 ______________________________________

ATTORNEY:    She had three children, right?

 WITNESS:      Yes.

 ATTORNEY:    How many were boys?

 WITNESS:      None.

 ATTORNEY:    Were there any girls?

WITNESS :     Are you shittin' me? Your Honor, I think I need a different attorney. Can I get a new attorney?

 ______________________________________

ATTORNEY:   How was your first marriage terminated?

 WITNESS:     By death.

ATTORNEY:   And by whose death was it terminated?

WITNESS:     Now whose death do you suppose terminated it?

 ______________________________________

ATTORNEY:  Can you describe the individual?

WITNESS:     He was about medium height and had a beard.

ATTORNEY:  Was this a male or a female?

 WITNESS:     Guess.

 _____________________________________

ATTORNEY:   Is your appearance here this morning pursuant to a deposition notice which I sent to your attorney?

WITNESS:     No, this is how I dress when I go to work.

 ______________________________________

ATTORNEY:   Doctor, how many of your autopsies have you performed on dead people?

WITNESS:      All my autopsies are performed on dead people. Would you like to rephrase that?

 ______________________________________

ATTORNEY:   ALL your responses MUST be oral, OK? What school did you go to?

 WITNESS:      Oral.

 ______________________________________

ATTORNEY:  Do you recall the time that you examined the body?

WITNESS:      The autopsy started around 8:30 P.M.

ATTORNEY:  And Mr. Denton was dead at t he time?

WITNESS:      No, he was sitting on the table wondering why I was doing an autopsy on him!

 ____________________________________________

ATTORNEY:   Are you qualified to give a urine sample?

WITNESS:      Huh...are you qualified to ask that question?

 ______________________________________

 And the best for last:

 ______________________________________

ATTORNEY:   Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?

 WITNESS:      No.

ATTORNEY:   Did you check for blood pressure?

 WITNESS:      No.

ATTORNEY:   Did you check for breathing?

 WITNESS:      No.

ATTORNEY:  So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?

 WITNESS:      No.

ATTORNEY:   How can you be so sure, Doctor?

WITNESS:      Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.

ATTORNEY:   I see, but could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless?

WITNESS:      Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law

My very interesting Mothers day . . . lol

by KellzacarComment Published at 07:3507:356 comments6 comments22 Visits22 VisitsReport

Hi guys,

Well what a day, for me its been a roller coaster . . .

It all started of well, I was woken my my two youngest and hubby bearing a HUGE plate of bacon, eggs and toast followed by a lovely large glass of orange juice . . . Then cam my prezzies . . Danesha went all out this year and made me so many goodies, she made extra because she said that Sumara wasn't old enough so she made some for her to give to me . .

Hubby then can in with a bag and said that my big prezzie was still at the shop as it closed early and he missed getting it so the bag of naughties in his hand would have to do for now . . The bag contained lollies and incenses .  Lollies very very naughty considering that I am diabetic BUT he said that after my op I will never get to eat them again so he figured I deserved to be spoilt a little . .

After about an hour my poor mobile phone started going nuts . . It was here that I began to cry - You see nearly EVERY teen that I have helped and knew were sending me 'happy mothers day' messages . . . Some of them included a lovely verse or two telling me how fantastic I was and how I had helped them so much . . . OMG, I tell you this was so fantastic . . It was made even better by the fact that my own teen was a no show . . . For 3 years in a row she hasn't bothered, I finally got a text from her a 3.30 this afternoon but she didn't bother to turn up . .  *shakes head in sorrow*

Then around 4.30 ish my body decided to through a spanner into everything and I had am epileptic fit . . It wasn't a grand-mal but it was enough to scare me the crap out of me and afterwards I feel asleep . .  I have NOT had a seizure like this since I was 12 years old . . .

Anyway I am fine now and I love the gifts from my two little ones . . The txt messages from the teens was fantastic and I am looking forward to getting my gift from hubby  . . . .

I hope you all had a fantastic day . . . .

***Hugs to all*** Kellz

OUR goverment has STUFFED up ! ! !

by KellzacarComment Published at 11:1111:1131 comments31 comments69 Visits69 VisitsReport

Hi guys,

This is just my humble opinion but I need to blog about it . . . What am I talking about, well I am talking about the new tax placed on premixed alcoholic drinks here is Australia . .For those non-Australians that are reading this here is what our stupid government has done . . They have increased the price of premixed alcoholic drinks by up 70%! !!

WHY you ask? Well our silly government seems to think that by doing this they will be able to STOP or decrease alcohol drinking by our teenagers . . .

Now while I DO strongly admit there is a HUGE problem in Australian and most likely other countries as well with teenagers and binge drinking etc I don't think that is increase will accomplish much at all . . Here is what I see that this 70% raise will do:

  • Increase the crime rates
  • Increase the amount of teens who will turn to prostitution to support their drinking life styles
  •  Increased poverty (which will in turn cause a huge drain on already struggling services such as the Salvos)
  • Increased narcotic use (which in turn will lead a to a huge drain on the medical services provided
  • Increases in the homeless teen population
  • Increases in family break-ups
  • Increased street violence (which will in turn lead to more teen deaths)

This is just the top of the iceberg. . All i can see this new levy doing is to cause a huge strain on an already strained system with the community services and other medical areas . .

This weekend just passed I watched many teens around me to see how they would cope with the new prices etc. AS most of you know I take in many troubled teens in order to help them get back on their feet, this allows me to see some of the real crisis's that happen everyday for not only our teens but teens everywhere. .

I sat and listened quietly as I heard the teens discussing their options. I was truly appalled by what some of them suggested!! . . One thing I can say for certain is that this price rise has NOT stopped these kids from getting or finding ways to get alcohol. . It HAS however set the ball rolling towards these kids uniting to find ways and means to get their hands on the money to buy the alcohol . .

Some of the local teens that I know were discussing ways to commit crimes and/or the possibility and using drugs instead as they are now cheaper . . One young girl whom I know has alcohol problems and who has been trying to kick the habit now says that she will turn to drugs. Up until now this young girl HAS NOT ever used drugs but sadly now it is an option for her . .

I strongly feel that the government needs to get down in the reality stakes as see these kids and see what damage they are doing by their stupidity . . There are many other ways that this binge drinking problem could have been approached BUT sadly they include spending money and that doesn't seem to be something the government wants to do. Their new 70% will earn them a nice little income and you can bet that very little if any will go back into helping teens.

So what do I think the government should have done . . Well here are a few things:

  • Give police more power when it comes to intoxicated teens. As the current law stands our poor police force can do very little when they are confronted by an intoxicated teen. Many police sadly just make sure the teen is okay and then let them go as they feel helpless
  • Tougher and stricter punishments to anyone seen supplying alcohol to teens. I know of several pubs etc that sell to teens without a care because the agencies that are meant to be their watchdogs are so understaffed and overworked that the chances of these pubs getting caught are very slim. In my local area at the moment a pub was recent caught selling alcohol to a minor, they received a fine but they are now back at it again. THEN there are the parents who buy alcohol for their teens, plus other adults whom also do this. These parents and adults should be dealt with as harshly possible. I personally have NO time for parents etc who help supply teens with alcohol . . . I have teens and I DO NOT supply them, sadly they have NO problems acquiring it elsewhere!
  • Train and open a separate task force for policing the sale of alcohol. I personally feel that if there was a separate task force that dealt with alcohol sales and any crimes relating to alcohol then this would take some pressure of an already bursting system.
  • Allow adult men and women whom are dying from alcohol related conditions into our schools. Don't down play any of this . How many of you have seen a person dying due to alcohol abuse?? I can tell you that it is not a nice sight at all!! . . I know of a young lady who is now only 28 and is dying from alcohol abuse, she started drinking at a very young age and now she is paying the ultimate price. She would love to take her dying body into the high schools to show the just how "uncool" drinking really is . .
  • Put the legal drinking age up to 21. How wrong is it that our teens are getting their licenses at the same age that they can drink, 18 . . . Doesn't anyone see the stupidity in this!!??

I could go on and on here but I wont . .. I just wanted to vent and get some of this out and my blog seemed like an ideal place . . When will our government wake up and stop trying to take shortcuts????

Sometimes you have to spend some money to get something back!!!

Aren't our kids worth it?? . .

I think they are!!

Our trip to see all the doctors

by KellzacarComment Published at 11:0111:0116 comments16 comments41 Visits41 VisitsReport

Hi guys,

WELL finally I get time to blog . . . As you all know we took the 2 hour trip to the BIG hospital on Thursday. I had to see my specialists PLUS we also had to take Sumara along for her check up .

GOOD NEWS was had for both of us . .

Firstly Sumara - The doctor was so very pleased by her overall appearance. She weighed in at 13.5kg's and stand a proud 84cm's which is VERY tall for a 24month old . ..   We discussed sumara's GORD and even though she is a GREAT weight both the Doctor and I agreed that this is totally due to the fact that her father and I go above and beyond.

Sumara is still on prescription formula and because she barely eats through the day she still often wakes at night needing her special formula . . SO I got the referral that I was wanting for the new pediatrician in Hobart . . YIPPEE. ..  WE are hoping that this new doctor will be able to help out poor little angel . . It is so unfair that eating etc causes her so much pain . .

NOW as for me . .  I have been placed on an urgent list to have my operation . . The government has finally provided the funds for six people to get the operation . . It seems unfair that only 6 will get the surgery BUT i am so glad that I will be one of them . .

The doctor explained that It will take a month to prep me for the surgery and it will take another 3 months for me to recover. The doctor also explained that I would be in severe pain and discomfort afterwards but as he said, no pain  no gain and I agree . .

The hope is that I will go very well with this surgery and my hope is that I can get my life back, preferably pain free at the end of it all!! . . . So some time in the next 6 months I will get my surgery, how cool is that?? . . I am so excited but I am also terrified . . .

Anyway that's me for now . . . Cheers Kellz
